i only buy new releases @ best buy when i want it day one. otherwise i shop around.

as for Daredevil, Best Buy has it as a website only product. go to wal-mart, they have it for $14.96 in store.

here at my bestbuy (where I buy 95%) of my movies we have all those titles - daredevil(online only), sometimes they don't have some of the lesser known ones, like I wanted 3 days grace live and they didn't have that... I'd just complain and maybe they will order some.

A). They will price match Walmart, which always seems to be very competitive to Amazon. Simply print out the Blu Ray price from the Walmart website and you get the price difference.
i dont know how your walmart is so different, but walmart is very rarely competitive with amazon. walmarts new release prices are just as bad as best buy.

im a little confused for the OP too. is your bank account totally frozen? what would be the difference of using your debit card at best buy or using it on amazon? are you dealing with only cash?!

The Best Buy stores here have been getting most of the new releases, but not very many copies of them. For example, when I went there this past Tuesday, they had 1 copy of Friday the 13th, 1 copy of Office Space and 2 copies left of Zack and Miri. This is on the day of release. I imagine those copies didn't last long.

B). They will price match if the product goes on sale at Best Buy or if you find a lower price else where within 30 days. Movies go on sale all the time so if you look around you get usually an even better deal than on Amazon.

Don't get me wrong, I like Amazon but if I can find the same movie at the same price or better than I would rather not wait for shipping.
A.) No, not always. But, make sure that what you print out has the date on it even if it is a new release cuz otherwise they give you a hassle about it and then they gotta look it up.

B.) Refer to A.

Let me tell you about a little experience price matching at Best Buy. I went to buy King Kong on Blu-ray, and I had 20 dollars in Reward Zone certificates. I go to the cashier and she says you'll have to go to customer service. So, a little annoyed I went to customer service and told them, and they saw my sheet which was printed off from the Sears website advertising King Kong for 18 something. The only thing it didn't have the date of when I printed it off even though it had the date King Kong was available at Sears on the paper. So, Best Buy didn't believe me.

Then, the cashier at Customer Service started getting all annoyed with me and then said she'll call Sears, and she called and said they never heard of it.

Then she goes to the cpu they have and looks it up online and finally about 45 mins. later sees that I was right to begin with. During this time, not only do I get dirty looks from the people who work at Best Buy, I have to put up with this terrible way of doing business where the customer is apparently wrong.

So, she comes back to the register and rings it up at 18 something and then I give her my reward zone certificate which is valued at 20 dollars and she says that they can't use that. I said why? She said because it has to be 20 dollars or greater. I couldn't for the life or me figure this out as to why, but the manager came over and agreed with the sales person, and then another person who worked there read some small print off their website which hinted at this, but it was different.

Then, I say okay if I don't price match it will be at 19.99, so then can I use it and she says no. You can imagine that I was EXTREMELY IRRITATED. So, after about an 30 mins - 1 hour at Best Buy just on that alone, I left without getting it and they didn't apologize or anything.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

So, then I took it to another Best Buy and did the exact same thing only to find a cashier who saw that I had the reward zone certificate and he rang up King Kong to 20.00 even and charged me no tax. This guy was a nice guy, because to have 20 dollars of reward zone certificates and have to spend even more money to use it towards the purchase of something else is not a reward at all.

You can bet that experience and the lack of customer service that Best Buy has will make me stay far away from them. And I'll also never go back to that store who treats their customer VERY VERY BAD.

Is there a Sam's Club or Target around you, sometimes they have good deals. You definietly need to get that paypal stuff taken care of so you can return to online buying for Blu's. Like most everyone else has said, Amazon has the best deals for Blu's that I've seen.

Back to the OP's question, I've also noticed that with the BBs in my area (and I've got a lot to choose from). Older catalog titles don't seem to get stocked there on Day One, and they typically don't get them until at least a week or so later. I started noticing this with 'JFK', and more recently, 'King Kong', 'Zodiac', and now 'Office Space'.

Best Buy sucks for pretty much everything, especially customer service.

The only Wal Mart near me is one of the oldest stores in the area and doesn't carry very many Blu Ray's, but they are building a new super Wal Mart as we speak. In response to other options, the next closest option is 15 miles away at FYE and from what i've seen, their prices are even higher.
Can't you just buy a Visa gift card with cash and then buy online? Amazon blows Best Buy away IMHO. I try to give them my money vs Best Buy as often as possible.

My local BB is terrible. Every time an ad comes out with a killer sale, they never happen to have any of the movies in stock. I'm beginning to think that they pull the titles off the shelves and try to sell you their other movies at MSRP.

Wow, I guess I am very lucky with my two BBs. They both have a great selection, and I've never had a problem customer service wise. I've gone to price match something with the prices written down on a piece of paper from the stores that have the prices, they glance at the paper to get the figures that are hand written by me, and go ahead and match the prices. Other times they check online first and give it to me quickly. The only one time I had a problem was with Force Unleashed and a Gift Card from TRU tried to price match at Best Buy, they said it was the same price without the gift card, and wouldn't match the gift card. Figured since every other time I had such great service, I would let one bad experience slide. Since then, haven't had a problem.
