Side Note: Danny Boyle (the director of "28 Days Later," obviously and a producer on the sequel) has stated quite a few times that what they made was not a zombie-film and it baffled and/or perhaps even frustrated him a bit that when it was released it was branded that way.

Quarantine was good, I just hate the camera used (wannabe Blair Witch style). I don't think it's a zombie movie, though. It's a virus. Same with 28 Days/Weeks and I Am Legend.

The original film (i.e. "[REC]") is debatable as it has hints of a supernatural or otherworldly-culprit, but without-a-doubt the remake (i.e. "Quarantine") is viral-horror.

I will respectfully-disagree with anyone who calls the "28" series' "zombie-films." They're viral-horror (and post-apacolyptic, obviously).

agree that they are not zombie movies (THE PEOPLE ARE NOT DEAD which is why the sick died of starvation). But it is not post-apocalyptic, but maybe pre-apocalyptic the way they are going

The actions of the camera have nothing to do with what camera was used... Unless I missed the point of your statement.

"The infected" do not crave nor eat human flesh; they are consumed with the most violent of rage and therefore lash out and attack people in various ways, perhaps biting victims at times (mostly just vomiting or hemorrhaging onto others so the virus is continually passed on...) but none-the-less they are not out to eat nor even necessarily kill people. They simply want to attack and (more importantly) spread the infection around.

A zombie is a creature of the living dead. Meaning that they aren't alive, sick, or infected. They're simply reanimated.

28 days (good movie)/weeks (not so good) aren't zombie-flicks. "Planet Terror" is excellent but I'd hold out until they stop milking us and release "Grindhouse".

Why are you only watching zombie-flicks on Blu-ray? In my opinion horror is a better experience with grain. When I want to watch "Night of the Living Dead" I still pop in my VHS copy.

Any way, I don't think it's on Blu-ray but regardless, check out "Wild Zero".

28 days later depicts a virus epidemic in a much more realistic way. Which
NONE of Romero's or other obvious zombie movies are!
And I've never heard of Zombie's that are capable of hating, like the infected boy said in 28 days later "I hate you" while attacking a person.
Which means the boy has a conscious. Romero's first zombies had no consciousness whatsoever! And the newer zombie movie which you refered to was just a cheap way, to do something new to the Zombie genre, like learning and reasoning. Which in the first place was never the trademark and appeal of the genre.
And please don't use wikipedia.org, everybody can edit articles there, which
makes it a questionable source.

And don't call Danny Boyle a moron, that is just low and uncalled for.
