Default Zombie....Why all the hate?

Just curious as to why people hate Rob Zombie so much...I'll admit that Halloween 2 was awful but the first Halloween he did was pretty damn good imo. I understand he put a different spin on the movie but isn't that the point?

The guy has made 4 movies...Devils Rejects being one of the best horror movies of the last decade...Is all the hate coming from fanboys of the original Halloween??

I enjoy his music. However, his movies are terrible. The guy has no talent in that department but to show sadistic he can make a movie. Now don't get me wrong sadistic could be a talent and its appealing to others. To me its just doesn't appeal to me.

I don't hate Rob Zombie at all. I really like him, his films & his music. HO1000C was his weakest imo but still good, TDR was great, Halloween was very good and I love Halloween II.

Because John Carpenter had made two films before making HIS Halloween, from a background of being a film director, and not an overly image-obsessed metal star who wants to indulge his severely limited pop-culture tastes.

If RZ wants to be a director, let's see him remake "Starman".

The Devils Rejects is amazing! All his other films are just OK IMO. Zombie just needs to stop casting his wife in all his movies. She is AWEFUL

Why do we have to be fan boys of Halloween? I mean I love Friday the 13th and I didnt have a prob with the remake of that film. The reason is simple......he crapped on the Halloween franchise with those so-called Halloween films. Got Em!!

Because of obsession with trailer trash folks. Every character in his movie like that, it's so unrealistic. I can't even buy it, sure there are people like that but not everyone in the world is. In Zombie's world they are.

Besides he makes crappy music. Dude has no talent and can't write for ****.

If Zombie's film wasn't called Halloween, I might've enjoyed it. Unfortunately Carpenter's film worked because of its subtlety, because of what Carpenter left to our imagination.

Zombie's film is completely lacking subtlety. He spells everything out in graphic detail, and while this might've worked for a slasher film by any other name, Halloween originally worked because it was conceived to leave a lot of what we know about Myers ambiguous.

Keeping the shell of what Carpenter created and injecting the empty space with rednecks didn't really do it for me.

There's also a matter of Zombie not keeping his word. He said he'd never go back to Halloween after his initial remake. He broke that promise. He said he'd never do a remake, and if he did not a horror remake. He's got a remake of The Blob coming up. H2 seems like a testament to him hating Halloween fans. What he did to Loomis and what he wanted in Michael Myers (a maskless man who shouts at Loomis at the end of his Director's Cut) hurt to watch.

Many people automatically hate remakes and those who make them.

I liked his music and his Halloween films, but I didn't care for his "original" work.

I like his music and The Devil's Rejects. Haven't seen his Halloween 2 yet.

Well, there is a major different between "different" and "well done"....I think he failed miserably in the latter. I don't "hate" him by any means, but I think he's one in a list of many who aren't particularly beneficial additions to the film industry.

I still prefer Zombie's Halloween films over Carpenter's "masterpiece"

RZ is a hack. I respect his vast knowledge of horror movies but H1000C was just him jerkin' it to Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Halloween remake? Garbage.

Plus it was Zombie that talked shit about the Dawn of the Dead remake saying that the old classics should never be remade. I guess when somebody's flashin' green in you're face your opinion changes.

He should have stuck to the Underground show on TCM. That's what I like him doing. Droppin' knowledge and introducing horror fans to movies they haven't seen.

this is a pretty bad reason to not like a movie.... what horror movies do you like?

Also... so for a few people it seems... that if the original Halloween wasnt made, then you would like zombies version?? that just seems kind of contradictory...

They say they don't like it because of the title 'Halloween'..... makes no sense imo.

I am a fan of the original Halloween. I saw RZ's version and thought it was an insult to the franchise. I bought on DVD back before I made the jump to Blu and I only watched it once. I have no deisre to see the second one he did.

Even if the original one didn't exist I still wouldn't like his version. I think all of his movies are trashy and a little to vulgar for me. Again, this is my opinion and I am not trying to offend anyone at all. If you like his work, that is great and I hope you enjoy them but they are not for me at all.
