2001 first. Talk about a melding of visual almost ballet like with the perfect selection of music for the audio soundtrack. Breathtaking.

I'll have to go for 2001. Peter Sellers was impressive in Lolita though.

So am I. I found Full Metal Jacket (1987), a mixed bag.

Once it shifts to Vietnam, the drill sergeant is sorely missed.

It's still an amazing film. Only Stanley could have made it. So...

What a film...
ALSO SPRACH ZARATHUSTRA!!!!!!!!

Same here...... As much as I find Spartacus to be an amazing film.... Films like 2001, Clockwork, FMJ, Dr. Strangelove, and The Shining have more rewatchability for me..... I think Lolita, Barry Lyndon, and Glory are all great films too though.....

Great question though!

"Eyes Wide Shut" is probably my least favorite, and I still Like it!!!!! I am a pretty big Kubrick fan though.

Paths of Glory, Spartacus, and 2001. No particular preference.

This is just my opinion, but I think that Eyes Wide Shut will gain in stature as the years go by. I think we need to gain a bit of distance from the Cruise/Kidman celebrity nonsense. I also think that Nicole Kidman's performance is one of the best in any Kubrick film. Time will tell.

By the way, I don't have a favorite Kubrick film but I do have a least favorite. Don't like to highlight the negatives though.

I've only seen 2001, am I missing anything? 2001 is easily one of my favorite movies ever, I love it. I have The Shining and Clockwork Orange, but I haven't seen them yet.

After seeing 2001, I was all "awesomed" out for the month, I had to take a long break before watching the next Kubrick film.

So MUCH story is told without showing, hearing or discussing it. Its just there...even though its hidden.

He demands a lot from an audience. I would definitely sample "The Shining" and "Full Metal Jacket". All of his films are very different experiences, but you are in for a great ride.

Had I watched all those Kubrick films back to back my head would've turned to cotton candy; awesomeness overload.

Best way to die if you ask me...
