Well, I have found a noticeable difference (albeit Almost Famous BD is far from being demo material). And I have a pretty good sight, plus my HDTV is brand new. How about that?

Movies that looks far worse than Almost Famoust (still better than any upscaled DVD): Crash, Predator, Halloween, Robocop, Gangs of New York, Rocky, Stargate, The Terminator, etc.

Almost Famous looks better than any of those titles. Period.

Okay, maybe 0 difference was pretty drastic. But, still small enough difference for me to trade away one of my favorite movies and hope for a better US release. My worst upgrade out of my collection. I don't own any of those titles you mentioned BTW, but have seen Predator on HD cable and it looks better than the DVD.

Pretty drastic if you ask me. BTW I just compared again the DVD with the BD and the difference is there, is evident. Not a HUGE difference but a noticeable difference nonetheless.

And I haven't mentioned the lossless track vs the lossy track on the DVD.

As I said before I paid only about 11 dollars for this BD, and I am sure I could sell my DVD copy for about 3-4 dollars. In short Almost Famous was a bargain to me (7-8 dollars). Probably you paid a lot more. If that is the case, then I can understand your deception.

I own only a couple of the titles mentioned above but I have rented the other titles at my local videostore.
Predator looks far worse than Almost Famous, believe me.

Apparently, Best Buy will soon have this as an exclusive release at the end of January, finally, we're getting some more Crowe on Blu Ray!

It is listed on an official Paramount release list. Perhaps blu-ray.com didn't receive it.
