I ask because, as others have stated, both are characteristically bright. If you haven't heard them, then it may be worth considering lineups like Quad, Monitor Audio Silver, and Revel Concerta, all of which are more neutral than the PSBs and Klipsch. If you know you like the brighter speakers, however, then you have chosen the right brands. |

Anyway, I don't see how you can look at what I came from to what I have now, and say it's at the same level. What I came from was first a Panasonic HTiB, followed by an Onkyo HTiB speaker setup. What I have now may only be a small step up, but a step up nonetheless. And I've looked at your HT gallery. How on earth do you consider that to be entry level? There's not an entry level system on the planet that can compete with it. At least not what I consider to be entry level. And when I said I didn't consider the before mentioned brands to be entry level, it wasn't to "blow my own horn" or even because I happen to own one of the brands mentioned. It was just a statement of opinion. Last edited by Steve; 02-23-2009 at 01:55 AM. |

From my experience with both speaker companies (Paradigm and Klipsch) heres what I have noticed about each (and this is subjective but I've listened to a lot of line ups from each company).
Paradigm: Very Musical and accurate, easy on the ears, well balanced, efficient...doesn't need a lot of power to drive them, price for the speaker you get is unbeatable, build quality is top notch, harder to find...special dealer sold only. Klipsch: Very cinematic...gives you that in your face theater sound while also being accurate and detailed, efficient...doesn't need a lot of power to drive them same as the Paradigms, very easy to find/buy. Now this is very subjective, but after listening to my dads setup with Paradigm's flagship speaker...the S8's paired with the Anthem amp compared to my Klipsch Icons (but this is also the same feeling I get while listening to other Klipsch models including the commercial series...but I have not heard the Palladium or their heritage series so can't vouch for those) Anyways I feel as if I get a more cinematic sound from my klipsch. I just feel its that in your face, quiet at one point but then bam, very loud at another with the Klipschs...same as in the theater. But when it comes to clairty, music reproduction, well balanced, superb imagery, and a better all around speaker; Paradigm will be better than its comparable Klipsch counterpart everytime hands down. Just my two cents and anyone is free to chime in on my comments and its hard to really explain what im thinking in writting but hopefully ya'll get my drift. But in short heres what I think... Paradigm: Best for Music then movies Klipsch: Best for movies |

i agree with DBLACKGT's post above me! i auditioned both, but i was looking for movie speakers as i don't listen to music as often as i watch movies and tv. i have had my klipsch for over a year now and couldn't be happier. they sound great with everything from transformers to band of brothers to TDK! i did however opt to go with a pardigm sub instead of the klipsch brand.

I personally hate the Klipsch sound---precisely because it is so in-your-face and bright. But I'm not hating the speaker, because it's all a matter of opinion. And honestly, they are very cinematic. In fact, some professional theaters use Klipsch speakers (commercial lineups, of course). My local theater does, and that is why I don't like the sound there---trebles are harsh and grating to my ears.
Klipsch makes a fine product, and they have their place...it's just not in my home! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Ok I went and listened to more speakers and now I'm really confused !
I have now listened to Klipsch 82's , Paradigm's Monitor 7's , PSB's T65's, and Monitor Audio RS6's And now I don't think I like klipsch so much.PSB's sound better to me.Paradigm's I would need to go back and listen to but I think I like them a little more then PSB's But I really liked the Monitor Audios as a 2 channel set up and that's the way I heard them they didn't have them set up for HT. I just don't know if they would sound as good as the PSB''s would in a HT they seam more laid back but for listening to music they where the best of the 4 for me. If you have listened to Monitor Audio RS6's in a HT what did you think and did you ever compare them to PSB ? Thanks |

Klipsch all the way. i upgraded from my "entry level" Htib to the Onkyo 606 and Klipsch RC-52, RS-52s, RW-10d (in transit) and plan on getting RF-52s soon. so far with my 3 speakers, its awesome. but im a noob, though i dont consider a system that cost/will cost me $2200 or more to be entry level. im in the military, not exactly buying this stuff on a whim. did my research and love my choices. nothing against other brands, i just found what i liked for my money and went with it. imo, Klipsch is all i need/will ever need.
