The thing is as well that Portman said she would be up for it if Besson wanted to do it. They should of done it in 2004 for the 10 year anniversary.

It has been released in Germany, but that version is Region locked. Gaumont hasn't region locked any of their titles thus far, so this might be the best version to get.

Gaping plothole I just noticed...if Leon was as good a hitman as he seems to be, he should've noticed Stan walking right behind him before he got shot. Oh well..

Hello everybody, here is what I found yesterday on the internet regarding Léon's French edition specs. I don't know exactly whether these are confirmed or not but still...

There should be both versions of the movie on the disc : theatrical & director's cut release
Video: 1080p AVC 2.35
Zone : B ...
Audio: French DTS H.D MA
English DTS HD HR
Subtitles: French

source: http://www.dvdfr.com/dvd/f151318-leon.html

Hope these are not the final specs but anyway, i wanted to share what I found with you guys.

As a french blu-ray consumer, I always watch english movies (or french movies with american actors) in their original version and feel very disapointed that Gaumont didn't chose to put English DTS HD MA sound and English subs... If this is really what the french release will looke like, I guess I will wait for the american one, hoping this one will be region free...

Hello,

The specs you posted are generic and not confirmed. The preliminary info from the distributor we have is that the disc will be region-free. I will have to confirm, however, before people can safely begin to place their pre-orders.

Please be patient

I'm more concerned with the sound options. Any idea when you'll find out?

Christ, is there anything Pro-B DOESNT know? You're the man.

I'm lazy. Would anyone care to give me an idea of how much this would cost me to import to the US? Provided that it's confirmed to be region-free.

If I remember right, the extended version is/was only in English since it was originally for the Japanese market. Let's just hope it's region free and no forced subtitles.

Going on Gaumont's past releases, they have all been region free and no forced French subs. They usually offer English subs as well.

Same preliminary info as before - Region Free. Until I have it in my hands though, I cannot recommend that you place a pre-order.

Extra features:

- Theatrical version
- Integral / longer cut
- Trailer
