However, on the PS3 the Blu-Ray HD movies seem to be sort of 3d looking and that is starting to induce dizziness. I had no problem with my first Blu-Ray purchase...Rambo 2. But now, I can't seem to tolerate King Kong, Dark Knight, BlackHawk Down and Tears of the sun. It's a shame cause these movies look absolutely beautiful. I lowered the contrast (thought it was that). However, the dizziness remains. The TV i'm using is a Sanyo HDTV 27" 720P, Contrast ratio 800:1 ,6 second refresh rate. I would love to find a solution to this dilema. What could it be.......Please Help!!!
I believe you are referring to what is known as "The Soap Opera Effect". I hadn't heard of it until I noticed my parents XBR tv so I stumbled across a few hits on google.

I'm no geek on these subjects, but I'm sure that's whats going on when your watching TV. I got used to it.

^ if it is the above, try turning of the frame interpolation option (I personally cannot stand fram interpolation, and has been known to cause such prtoblems). What chords are you using and how are they connected? and what are all you're settings at (eg: sharpness, saturation, brightness, contrast etc....)?

Heard of it for games. Might be the same deal. Perhaps a trip to the eye doctor might help ? Or several drinks prior to movie time? Or drink all the time to mimic the feeling of being dizzy? Kidding aside a visit to an eye doctor might get to the bottom of this quickly. Good Luck!

I hope this isn't an Aprils Fool's thing....we've all been advised not to do that. If this is a serious thread, then calibration is definately in order. Actually...my first honest comment would be to get a larger tv, and from the sounds of how movies react with you, avoid the 120 hz refresh rate LCD's. Calibration of a television is setting it to it's best settings for longer life, and better viewing. This website may have some suggestions for your television.
