If people would quite going to see all these remakes and let them fail at the box office Hollywood might stop making them. But as long as the generate revenue the producers and studios will take "the easy way out."
I'm officially placing a curse on both of these movie that every one involved, especially George Clooney will meet with future career failure...bwwaahahahahaha. ![]() |

ShockTillYouDrop.com reports that MGM's planned remake of Tobe Hooper's classic '80s haunted house movie Poltergeist has received a release date of November 24, 2010, Thanksgiving weekend.
Vadim Perelman (House of Sand and Fog) has been attached to direct since last September. The original was produced and co-written by Steven Spielberg. Two sequels were produced. |

you're thinking about a made for Showtime "sequel" that I believe came out in the early to mid nineties. It had Tippi Hedren in it in small role and I can't remember who the leads were. It was an "okay" flick.... |

Ugh, Poltergeist is one of the great horror films that cannot be made better by a watered down remake. Pass. I will watch the original any day, I don't care how good the new one will be.

If I don't like the idea of a remake...I just won't see it. On the other hand, ten years down the road after the inevitable second hemorrhaging of Hollywood originality I'm pretty sure I'll see the remakes that will be done of the remakes.

Sad but true. And you are probably talking about 85% of people on here. You know...the one's that prefer ID4 over CE3K.

I repeat what I stated on another thread.......
You cannot remake a Classic no matter how hard you try , and most remakes don't even properly try to be better , only a money grab from a new generation that doesn't know any better. Improved special effects etc don't improve a movie ,but hey I can't wait for Tom Cruise and Megan Fox to remake "The African Queen" ![]() ![]() ![]() Ok so 3:10 to Yuma was ok , PQ was ok on King Kong , but overall I stand by my statement when Im not....... ![]() |
