I have to admit that, I am a fool. Here is the link to the product

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1188558641997

just to prove you guys that I am not in the April 1 mood.

The reason I bought this one because it says it is 6.68gps. It also said for bluray, you need cables that is 4.5-6.6gps. Most online or wal-mart cable is 25k. Does the speed make any difference?

thank you guys.

Reminds me of the craigslist scam from last year where a guy in Atlanta was making tons of money reselling generic branded HDMI cables and wall mounts for triple what he bought them for.

Evidently people were buying them like crazy because they were so much cheaper than what you could get in a store.

it's no big deal..... I purchased lots of electronics, cables, speaker wires etc... in the past..... now I use the internet to do as much research as possible to know what is beneficial, and what isn't.......

I bought 150' of Monster 12g speaker wire back in the day......... now I wouldn't think of it..... I know there are some nice speaker cables made (much more expensive) but I know that for my system, there are multiple other things that I'd spend the money on first..... which would give me noticeable improvement......

I don't dismiss the fact that $500 power cables have benefits..... but in my current setup, it's not an upgrade I'm prepared to test out.....

For PQ alone.... the display is the first and foremost "link" ... the HDMI cable won't matter... and the player will play some part, but through bench-tests etc... it's clear to me (at least) that the human eye can't differentiate the PQ between players..... the Display however plays a huge role.... so properly calibrating your display, rather than spending extra money for a more expensive player/cables will play huge dividends....

You are not a fool. You just don't spend every hour of every day on these forums like some of us do. Give yourself a break and welcome to the club.

Default How Best Buy tried to rip me off!

A week ago, I purchased a new printer and my wife took it upon herself to set it up. She commented today how "the printer did not include the expensive USB cable, and had to get one in Best Buy". I asked how much it was, and she said..."almost $40 for a Dynex" . Just went to monoprice.com and ordered a 10ft USB (same as the one purchased) for a grand total of $3.50 shipped. As soon as that baby comes in I am returning the $40 scam right back to Best Buy.

Mr. Titan. Have you not "lightly" trained your wife in the art of Proper places to find audio/video equipment & components, and also that she NEVER EVER buys anything at BEST BUY, unless she consults with you 1st?

You should really blame the consumer. They do no research for cheaper prices. They prefer to be spoon fed and grab their ankles when they buy a 150 HDMI cable. I work at BB. I hear customers moan about the price. I feel like saying, HELLO! Why not look on line for cheaper prices. You are not bound by BB.

You are no fool, just ignorant when it comes to cables. Hell, I thought AOL was the best IP for years.

It's all about whatever makes you happy, if you think a Monster or Audio Quest Cable works wonders, than it does.

I have a few Audio Quest cables and some Belkin cables, honestly, I don't notice a huge difference.

If I need an inexpensive cable I tend to go with Amazon.com though, only cause I get the free 2-day shipping (Prime) and no tax.

Haha, I remember when Time Warner merged with AOL in NY a while ago, and they made changes to AOL and the login process, and I called them yelling (it was when Cable companies were introducing Broadband). ...but after a while I loved the speed.

It's funny to hear from people that purchase things from Best Buy. Since its a big box store, people don't understand about impulse buying. My friend made a mistake when purchasing this cable. All he has to do is return the cable.

Now when you purchase something from Best Buy, remember one thing! You have the product in your hand, but will it work the way you want it too when you get IT HOME. Here is a little food for thought for the people in the forum.

Do you purchase the house first or the paint for the house first? Remember what he said; he was excited to see what he purchased. When people are to excited sometimes we make wrong choices.
