That way it seems like I'm really trying to get rid of it. So then I ended up getting tons of offers and finally someone offered me $500 and I was like "sold!" haha.

I think on ebay the average selling price is $425 but then you have ebay and paypal fees plus you have the headache of shipping it. So put it on craigslist and always start higher, at least $100-$150 more than you want for it. That way people can think they are bartering you down.

But jump on the Elite before its gone cause you will always be able to sell the 805.

So for the money would you stick with the o5 instead of the 07...Is it worth the extra for what you get.

Well for me at the time when I bought my SC-05 it was $999 and the SC-07 was $1399 so I just didn't think it was necessary for me to spend $400 more for a few extra features. And especially after reading this review I thought the SC-05 was a solid choice.

Ultimate AV Mag Review on the SC-05

Check it out and tell me what you think. And even in some case the SC-05 is better than the SC-09.

OMG isnt that 09 the sickest b*itch you have every seen...I just dropped a huge load!

And yea that was a pretty impressive review and probably has swade me into buying the 05 instead of the 07. A guy at Ultimate Electronic told me that the Elites are not that easy to set up compared to the Onkyo's. Beings you owned both would you say the same, because there is nothing worse than getting a new receiver and struggling with the setup, god I hate that!

Yeah the SC-09 is pretty amazing but after reading that article I was pretty much sold on the SC-05.

Anyways, thats odd that the guy told you they were hard to setup. I actually found that it was way easier while also being more in depth. The auto sound setup (MCACC) does all the adjustments you need and other than that its just little setup tweaks that are very simple and easy to figure out. But really if you can setup the Onkyo then you would have no problem with the Elite.

to get the 05 setup perfectly is a little difficult, but the results are well worth it. I suggest that you check out avsforum.com and take a look through the mcacc thread. It will explain to you step bu step how to master the mcacc auto calibration, the results are glorious

So that's also what I was wondering cembros, and I was actually was going to ask DBlackGT if that is what he used or did he just manually cal. his. I know on my Onk I used there's and got awesome results and was very pleased.

BTW how do you like your 05...? Any problems with yours, is there anything I should know in advance.

no problems what so ever, i love it. There are only 2 complaints i have heard with the receiver. 1) it does not upscale or even process video thru hdmi (personally i dont want the receiver touching my feed, i want to risk clipping colors) 2) you cannot set different crossovers for each speaker, if you want you fronts to be 80hz then all your speakers will be the same. This is what is recomended by thx.
I am soooooooooooooooooooo happy with this receiver, it has really made my speakers come alive. The woolfsen dac's provide give me so much more detail than i was getting from my old sony es receiver. I am actually using an external amp to drive my speakers now, but i was using the ice amps for a while and wow are they something special. They drove my 4ohm polk lsi speakers very well, and even at high output for extended periods of time they didnt even break a sweat, i mean this thing does not get hot. You will love it i promise you, oh and it is a beautiful receiver.

You guys are gonna have to quit with all this love talk....Its getting me all boned up and I have no place to put it so to speak...! In all BS aside Ive been eyeing Elites for some time now and I will finally be a family member and cant wait. I do like that this receiver runs warm and not HOT like Onk's do, that right there is a pert in its self. Like Ive said I have 8 ohm Klipsch speakers and from the talk of people that owns these are really pleased with the way this 05 really pushes them. Also I love the glossy black it really sets this beast off and makes it a really beautiful unit.

Well I'll just chime in my experience with the onkyo 705 and vsx03 which is lower on the pole then your guys receivers. Bottom line vsx03 sounds better. Setup was just as easy if you don't pay any attention to all the detailed graphs and whatchamacallits. Onkyo you just plug in the mic run your auddessy and your set. The elite is the same but you have all these other detailed graphs that you can change as well.

UPDATE........

I received it yesterday and all I can say is OMG this thing is really awesome and I couldn't be happier. The thing was so simple to set up and to be honest it was easier than the Onkyo. I can actually say I'm sold on Pioneer's and thought I would never find a reciever I liked better than a Onkyo, with that being said I wont say I wouldn't own another one but these Elite's are pretty sweet! Man I'm gonna have to go back and watch all my Blu's over again because I know I missed some things with the old unit.

Question for people that own these receiver's....I did the Automatic MCACC and got pretty good results I do believe, but is there anything that you guy's that have had them awhile have any suggestions I should do with them or just leave them alone. The only reason I say that is the distance's that it came up with was kinda far off like 10' off, but I'm just wondering if I should just them alone. Also is there any special settings I should have turned on that I don't know about. Again thanks for all the help and the advice to buy this reciever!

Wow I am sorry I did not follow up on this thread. Anyways im glad you like your new receiver and hope its working out for you. I have had mine for about a month now and am still getting used to it haha.

As far as the MCACC goes I would run it again. Its usually scary close to the right distance.
