i earlier had ps3.......now ive bought the sony bdp s370 and i think its the best standalone blu ray player.......!!

What matters is:

Reliability
Playback performance quality i.e. Picture Quality, Sound Quality
Number of formats it supports

OPPO and PS3 the clear winner. Best bang for the buck = Oppo BDP-80

bd players are all very very similar in bd PQ quality. I posted quite a few times how hometheatermag.com tested the Oppo, Pioneer Elite 09FD ($2200), Pioneer bdp-320 ($175), Marantaz ($2300) and they are all identical in bd PQ.

Buy what makes "YOU" happy.
