My JBL towers (8" woofer, 5.25 mid, 1" tweeter) they buzz in the woofer area off the grill @ high volume/strong bass so I normally will leave them of (no kids).

I have 4 kids. 4,7,13,15. So they stay on. That silver button to kids just says push me. I did that to my dads speakers when i was a kid. so on they are in my house.

I keep mine on. Will take them off to show them off The bright yellow of the B&W 600 series can be a tad bit distracting.

ON..... mostly because of light reflection.... and also if I left them off, I'd have to put them somewhere

When they are on, and the lights are off..... my speakers are barely visible...

My current speakers (MartinLogan Spires) don't have grills, but their predecessors did. I always left the covers off, except when we had young children staying with us.

As for where to store the grill covers: you keep them in the box the speaker came in!

When I had my Polkies- they stayed on due to children and a dog. They're supposed to help with dispersion as well, so I would've left them on.

With my Def Techs... what's a grill? I have a friggin' SOCK. I've taken a look at the drivers and rolled the sock back up.

I have mine off on the front speakers. That way everything matches. Cabinets maple, components silver.

I have a cat and 4 kids(4 month old and a 3,5 and a 6 year old) and they're pretty much trained in the HT room. Almost had an accident once with the center speaker but the stand and speaker won vs my 3 yr old. I still leave the grills on though just cuz you never know. They only come off for pictures or when people ask to see them.
