Picked up one before Thanksgiving, they dropped to $1646 then and I would assume it would be way less than that by now.The PQ is awesome, I have an 850 series and I'd say the picture is quite similar but I'd give the B750 an edge in detail.Pretty much I love this tv, it's awesome for Blu-ray and playing Xbox 360. For the price it's a good deal if it goes down to less than 1500 bucks even if it's not LED.

There might be a few minor things, some may see , but not worth the extra $$$ . put it to ya this way , my older tv ( ln52a750 ) Response /refresh rate of 120 hz looks just as good as my buddys 600 hz plasma ..
From things I have heard a human eye cant tell the difference past 120hz, may be misinformation but thats what I have heard

I went with Panasonic..at first. I got it home, spent a good 2 weeks with it and realized I just wasn't happy with it. A few reasons:

1. The whites were way off. I loved the blacks but the whites were just gray.
2. Video games looked horrible on this TV. No matter what I did to the settings (and I spent a good amount of time in the AVS forums digging through settings etc), video games just looked over detailed, pixelated and crappy. The 600mhz was a selling point for me because I do play a lot of video games, but it ended up making the games look choppy and it just plain hurt my eyes.
3. Image Retention was a pain in the but. I would be on my PS3 menu for 2 min, put on a bluray and I could see the PS3 clock (in the top right corner of the screen) for a good 20min into the movie. FREAKING ANNOYING. Plus I was more than worried about possible burn in. Unlike me, my family has a bad habit of leaving the PS3 menu up for hours at a time with the TV on after a movie is done. It would only be a matter of time before the PS3 clock, would be a permanent problem.
4. During the day, the TV was just plain too dark. The TV sits in a room with A LOT of windows, so the TV was being drowned out by light, and the image was constantly dark. The only way I could watch it during the day and be happy was to bump up the brightness..and that just plain messed up everything.
5. The color seemed OFF. No matter how many times I adjusted it, everything had a red hue. WTF? I even spent a good 2 hours with the Digital Video Essentials Bluray and it still never got right. No matter what I did, the colors always seemed to bloom and have an overexposed look.

It took my wife finally saying "it just doesn't look as good as I thought it would" for me to take it back.

I was lucky enough to find an open box LN52B750 at Best Buy for $1400 (after a lot of negotiating) so I picked that up, saved myself some $$ and got what I consider a substantially better viewing experience.

I love this TV for the following reasons.

1. The Picture Quality...right off the bat, in the NORMAL setting was spot on. In fact, after a mere 20 minutes with Digital Video Essentials the NORMAL setting was damn near perfect. Now DYNAMIC is a crime to the eyes, its over saturated, overly bright and just overall unpleasant (of course my daughter thinks DYNAMIC is the best setting and every time I go to watch TV I have to switch it back to normal). MOVIE is just to darn dark, but with some tweaks it too is very nice. STANDARD was very close to NORMAL as well.
2. Whites are fantastic, as are blacks. I was very surprised at how well the blacks did on this set. The only time they don't impress as much is in a totally dark room. But I always have some ambient light on (one behind the TV actually, per Digital Video Essentials recommendation) so you don't notice it.
3. Video games look good on the set. Especially in Game Mode. Now, there is some lag, which sucks..and I am getting used to it, and still fiddling around with some settings to make it as good as possible, but the games look great. They look crisp without being overly crisp (like the plasma), color is great, motion is great. Overall, a great way to play some video games.
4. TV performs well both in daytime with tons of light spilling in and night. Now again, my living room has a ton of light coming in from both sides and I was worried about the reflective surface of the screen, but to my surprise, it doesn't seem to be as much of an issue as the plasma was, which is weird. I guess its less reflective? who knows. Main thing is, the set is more than bright enough (I use STANDARD setting during the day) for a well lit room.

My only complaints so far about the LN52B750 is the remote.
1. It is not very responsive, you have to aim it RIGHT at the TV to get it to do anything, almost like the batteries are dying or something, but from what I read on AVS forum, that is just how it is.
2. The remote is missing some essential buttons on it. I would have liked to been able to push ONE button to change my image settings (ie: standard, normal, movie, etc). Instead you have to go into a menu, and then select it. Very annoying. Also, the TV has a PIP that is pretty useful (especially if your like me and you have your PC hooked up to the TV, you can have PC on one side split screened with TV on the other, how cool is that). But there is NO PIP button on the remote. You have to go through a series of menus to turn it on. VERY stupid. Funny thing is, the remote has a series of colored buttons on it...that serve NO purpose. They could have easily made those buttons macros that you can program to do what you want or something?!

So other than a crap remote, this TV is the bomb-diggity.
Congratulations. I'm pretty happy with mine as well.

I had assumed that as well but unfortunately it is still MORE expensive than the prices around September Now I'm hoping for a pre-Superbowl price drop but time is running out...

Default I own an LN52A750

I own an LN52A750 and I have a chance to grab a LN52B750. Now my questions are:

1. Are the blacks darker on the B750? I mean are the darker like say the bezel dark? A750 has nice blacks but the B750's specs are crazy compared. I know manufacturers hype up and lie about contrast numbers but to you guys who have experience what gives?

2. Is gaming lag worse, better or the same on the B750 over the A750? I know there is some form of lag on the A750 but it's hard to spot, hoping for at least an improvement over the A750 though.

3. Is flashlighting/clouding an issue on these sets too? My A750 has two flashlight in the top corners and it kind of annoys me in dark full screen scenes and during letter boxed movies where the scene goes darker. It's like an usher is somewhere in my livingroom.

Damn, that was an awesome review. I recently returned my Panasonic TC-P54S1, and I'm considering getting the LN52B750. I mean, plasma has it's advantages, but I think the disadvantages are far greater. Hell, I think I would keep my Westinghouse 37" LCD if it was as big, over the S1. that's why I like the idea of the B750 so much. It should be everything I love in my Westinghouse LCD, but better.

The only thing that worries me, is input lag. This particular LCD, the LVM-37w3se is VERY FAST screen. Is just as fast as the plasma. It's a little blurry, cuz is a regular 60hz screen, but it's very responsive as a monitor in my HTPC setup. That's the only thing that worries me about the Samsungs.

I had the 120hz B640 which was just a mid level tv, and while it took an adjustment for me (I noticed a change making the jump from 32'' Aquos to the 46") I was still just as good at games as I've ever been my ps3 mw2 kdr was 4.5 or 4.8 and my 360 one was 6.7... So I expect better performance with my new 55C8000.

I read the same thing though about sammy plasmas which is why I paid an extra 900 for the 8000 led rather then the PN50'' 8000... I was worried already about causing IR/ possible burn in(even though I know thats pretty much extinct), but TONS of reviews say the 8000plasma while very good can get a ton of IR

Yeah, I mean if like me you were playing on a 32'' and you jump to 46" or 50+ you will notice things you never did and the pace and size will throw you for a few weeks or days depending how much you play and adjust. But I personally never regret making the jump (we'll see how I do going from 46'' to 55" I just got it Friday)

But don't be scared you'll stop being good at something, if your good at games trust me having a different size shouldn't change that
