Panasonic supplied me with a new power cord & they rewired the power lines inside of the unit. Also gave it a new firmware update as well as a software update. I strongly advise everyone of you to send it to Panasonic directly! Its under warranty for 1 year after date of purchase . Therefore EVERYONE is covered since this model has not even been out for a year yet.

What's the firmware version currently installed in your player now?

So did Panasonic tell you that they definitively discovered the cause of the freezing issue and addressed it?

Yea set the blueray player to both 1080I/P and came out with same results.
Havent tried with a different player yet no, dont have any availible for me atm but will keep that in mind tho.
Lets say that it is the panasonic/samsung compatability issue, this could be fixed thru a firmware update or am i wrong?
Firmware upgrade could fix this problem. It is the best to upgrade to the latest and most reliable firmware version. Try to find a ps3 to test the TV set. ps3 is the best for compatibility, IMO.

My PS3 died last week, and I'm really considering buying this player.

Obviously, the most important thing for me is video playback. But BD-Live is also important to me. Does this player have any problems with BD-Live?

If video playback is important, I'm not sure that you should consider this player while the random freezing problem is still not fixed.

That being said, professional and user reviews rave about the image quality produced by the player and I've never heard of a BD-Live problem with it. If you don't mind the occasional, random 5 to 10 second freeze during playback, this is probably the player for you.

Default Drag Me To Hell wont play on bd60

It will play on my old bd30. Anybody know why? It loads to the main menu and when I hit play it locks up and goes blank.

You need the latest firmware update. Just had to update mine before it would play also.

There are known issues with Sony BDs like Drag Me To Hell. Try updating your firmware.

Just watched this last weekend on my BD60 without problems (though I wish I had that 1:30 of my life back). It took awhile for the disc to load, but after it did, it played without issue. My player is permanently hooked-up to the internet, so maybe the delay was due to firmaware automatically updating at the time.

I read a lot of good reviews on this BD60 Blu-Ray Payer but most of you are using Panasonic HDTV.

My TV is Sony 46Z4100 and my current Blu-Ray player is Sony S350.

Will BD60 work well with my Sony TV in term of picture quality and usability?

Yes. The main advantage of matching brands comes with remote controls. And a good universal remote renders that advantage moot.

Default Problem: Panasonic BD60 Region Free player

Got myself a Panasonic DMP-BD60 region free player. Almost all of my Region B movies works just fine, except my UK release of the Prisoner. I just get a message saying "This disc is playable in Region B only".

Is there something I can do to get my player working?

Picked up this player after a bunch of research for $139 to my door. It replaces the very unrelaiable Samsung BDP 1400 I have. The 1400 when it worked and actually played a movie seemed like a pretty good performer picture and sound wise its just that about 15-20% of the discs I put in there would not load all the way and play. Many had to be tried to load about 2-3 times before it would actually load and play. Froze up all the time trying to load certian disks and for the most part was a very frustrating player. Nothing worse than sitting down to checlk out a movie you wanna see and after about 20 mins repeadly trying to start it and it freezing up everytime you wanna kick the piece of crap to the curb, good ridance samsung bdp 1400!

Sofar the BD 60 has been great. Richer, warmer picture, great job loading fairly quickly the discs the 1400 would not even play. I updated the firmware via CD before even hooking the thing up, went very smoothly. Loving this thing so far. Did put a SD card in there to enjoy BD live one day and heard they may work best that way playing movies. may hook it up to my network soon too.

are you having any issues with other 7.1 track discs? your connected via hdmi?
perhaps the secondary audio in the player needs to be turned off. or maybe the 7.1 in rush hour is not a true 7.1 track but a matrixed 7.1 (like terminator 2 skynet) and flagged in such a way that the player (or the receiver) doesnt send (or process) the information correctly.

i would double check the audio set up in the player. if you need a manual there is a link in the first post
