If people get sick, they can be prescribed whatever medicine helps them, no problem.

Being sick does not mean growing a pimple or being constipated or something like that. It means, really being sick, to the point where you can't do stuff like I listed above.

It's 'decriminalized' in Canada, as silversnake has already said, it's legal for medicinal use only, but if you get busted walking around with oodles of it you're still in trouble.

To be honest, I don't think they should legalize it at all, mainly because I'd fear for people's health, the main reason why cigarettes are lethal to people is because of all the pesticides and such sprayed on tobacco to 'help it grow' and that's just plain killing people.

So my vote is an emphatic 'no'.

Ah...The same people I wouldn't want drinking on the job. Legalizing and regulating marijuana doesn't mean the world would go to hell. It just means the US government would hopefully have better control of it than what we have now. Any Joe Schmo can go and get a bag of pot if he wants it!

If 'any joe schmoe' isn't an idiot now, they can get it if they want it, how would legalizing it make any difference at all?

This is my same basic principle behind my viewpoints on gun control, but that could derail this thread. But I agree with Jade's viewpoint on this here.

If it's to be legalized, then tax it.

Never !
Actually cigarettes should be criminalized too cause those are also harmful drugs.

Just another thing for people to be under the influence when driving or going to work. I know people already do that, but if it were legal it would open it up to more people who may or may not misuse it like alcohol. Not saying that it is bad for you but it will get misused just like all other things but why not have just one less thing to add to the pile.

It absolutely should be legalized, and it will be one day. As long as the government regulates it properly there is no problem with marijuana being legal. They can also tax the hell out of it and really add some nice revenue to the economy.
