i still dont understandhow the guy from the other ship who was burned got on there ship ? all they show is them flying through to the ship and harvey drifting away ? and i love how the computer was like there were 5 people i was like who the hell was that and i thought it was the Asian captain who died lol

[Show spoiler] The II crew went over after docking, Icarus I captain went to Icarus II, blew the airlock, II crew stuck on Icarus I, II crew shoots across gap. By the way, he's 'burned' because he sits in the observation room, 'talking to God'. If icarus II hadn't parked in front of the observation room, it would have been flooded with sunlight - which is where Searle goes to die when Icarus II pulls away

I loved this movie, I thought the CG were top notch. The story had me right up till about the last 20 min lol. hated the ending. All in all though (had there been a better ending imo) this would rank very high on my scale.

I've always appreciated a helpful hint when given. After a mention or two about spoiler tags, there was still confusion, so I spelled it out. I don't think the OP has felt spanked... at least I hope not.

And just because You're done with this thread doesn't mean others are.

I wasn't thrilled with the end either, the confusing gravitational effects on every surface of the bomb makes things confusing

Unfortunately, I think the gravity effect wouldn't be enough to satisfactorily explain the 'clinging to a side' effect. The physics just aren't there...

As for

[Show spoiler] the bomb producing a contained fire that he can just stand there and admire for about a dozen seconds without getting cooked

is BS as well. And no, it's not slow-motion. He clearly stands there, hair fluttering (not burning, mind you) blinking several times. But despite thes nitpicky things, I think it's a great movie - not enough 'action' for some - But I dig it, big tme.

He addresses that (what he was going for in that scene) in the commentary. Edit: I think that's where I saw it addressed but it could have been from an interview with him at one of the fan sites. I don't remember for sure now.

I too agree. I'm a Scfi nut, but this movie unraveled and left me with many (wtf) questions. Loved the first half and it spiralled down hill from there.

Now let's close this thread before the whole movies is revealed.

I'm sure he was going for some kind of emotive effect, where the cold calculating physicist is entranced by the beauty blah, blah, but - yeah. My science background gets the best of me sometimes...

I hated this movie when I first saw it. I gave it another chance when it was on cable last week and I did like it a bit more. Didnt love it at all, but it was decent. Better than I remembered it. It does fall apart though towards the end when the "bad guy" is revealed, and the movie turns into some average horror movie.

Also... I think "Sunshine" was pretty over-rated, mostly due to the unbearable acting (or lack there-of) I do own it however, as many parts of the story are fairly well done.

I'd give the movie a 7/10, which isn't a horrible score for a movie, but at the same time doesn't make it a great one.
