Agreed. Heater Core replacement is very costly. If you have no leaks and the fluid levels are fine, then it's probably your thermostat.

Just hope for something small, did you contact the seller? You never know maybe he would be willing to meet you halfway or something, couldn't hurt to see what he or she says.

Unless you are exaggerating with the "30 seconds" bit, you have a thermostat problem.

There is no way in hell a water-cooled engine would cool down to normal temperature in 30 seconds. That little bit of information makes it VERY unlikely that your car is overheating.

It costs like $7 bucks and can be changed yourself with little problem (at least on most cars).

I pull over, sit for 30 seconds, and then the temp is back to normal and the car is not overheating. I just drove the car to work ( I had no other way to get to work, so I chanced it) and it drove fine the whole way here but my "hot" air is blowing ice cold still....

Anyone know what this could be? Radiator? Thermostat? Water pump? Do i just not have enough damn coolant in the car?

It's a 99 camaro with only 70k miles on it, carfax reported it has only 1 owner and never been into an accident

I'm giong to have it checked out today, i'm hoping it's nothing serious.
That is superseded by state law in most states.

Most states call it a "lemon law" and the dealerships make you sign that paper hoping you will be too lazy or dumb to figure it out.

Pray for something major. The dealer will have to fix it, and if it really did happen inside the first 72 hours, you can void the contract. Most lawyers will help you for free it is so simple

In addition to the other things that have been mentioned, you might have some air trapped in the cooling system.

My advice is to get yourself a OBD-II scanner and extract any trouble codes and have the cooling system checked. Your car is new enough that it should have an OBD-II port.

Good luck!

It was the thermostat, it's being fixed right now.

I'm going to sell the car, i'm never buying a used sports car ever again. This one mishap just brought back some really painful memories of my last car, which I loved. I'm so, for lack of a better word, upset right now. I thought sleeping on it would make me change my mind and want to keep the car, but i'm still really pissed.

It has 70 thousand miles on it, mechanical items break, i would agree if it was a 1,800 dollar transmission repair but for a item that requires changing right around that milage again why trade it for a general maintance item? Hell most newer toyota tundra owners have replaced the engine and transmission before even making a payment. I would say your doing alright considering.

Sorry to sound like a whiny baby (well, maybe it's because I am ) but now after i get the thermostat fixed the exhaust is rattling like CRAZY when i'm at a stop. It literally sounds like a ticking time bomb..... AhhahAHHAHhahahah.... i'm about to freak out....

and someone asked what i'd be driving in the meantime.... I have 3 other vehicles to choose from, so selling this one isn't that big of a deal

Edit: and sorry if I sounded like a dick in the other post.... I was having a bad day... VERY bad day.... then you add on the fact I just got done writing a HUGE reserach paper and 2 excrutiating exams...
