Layer change = DVDs
No layer change = Blu-ray

Well I had signed in from my friend's comp and one moderator thought I had multiple accounts. I think it was more about politics in this thread than the multiple accounts (which I didn't even have). A letter to head moderator cleared everything .

Just got myself a 320 yesterday! Haven't had a chance to play with it. But the video options are pretty neat.

That's great, I'm glad to see you went with the 320. Let us know your thoughts. Look forward to your comments. I think I'm leaning towards this one as well.

Asking for a fellow blu-rayer, can anyone verify whether the 320 offers bass management via analog outs?

thank you

Reading really good things with the Pioneer 320 lately on various forums, the latest was "joerod"'s assessment on avs forum. The guy has 15,000 posts and I'm not sure I was born yet when he started.

I figured it was going to take some time for exposure. I think it is $349 at Best Buy currently for those going the B&M store route.

I'll have to second this. I am very pleased with the Pioneer BDP-320. Compared to the Sony BDP 301 the 320's PQ is far superior. It has given new life to my Sony LCD. Although the load times are not as fast as most would like, it's not that bad. Typically a movie will load anywhere from 1min 30 secs to 2 min. from the time I press play to the studio intro.

DTS-MA out of the box, 2.0 profile with 1gb memory,7.1 pre outs, and firmware updates via ethernet are all the wonderful things about this BDP.

Anyone in the market, give this one a shot. you will not be disappointed.

Picked one up yesterday, Pioneer 320. Time will tell as I'll throw the kitchen sink at it especially over the weekend. Reading too many good things about it and it has me that curious to do so. Is it really that much better than the 51FD though? I know the difference in features between the two players but I asking primarily for PQ and AQ. If not, any money saved would go towards buying that many more BDs unless someone needs the extra features on the 320.

About two weeks I ordered the 320 at amazon.com and during this week it a couple of freezes and I ordered the JVC blu-ray player a few days ago.

Today, I shipped back the 320 to amazon.com due do the freeze ups that I was having and I also received the JVC blu-ray today. I will be returning the JVC on Monday, because the 320 that I returned had better pq in bd movies and in dvds. The JVC's pq had a softer look with somewhat washout colors, I also had a freeze up due to overheating due to no fan, and I thought that the bright blue undimmable led lights would not be a concern to me due to my lighting conditions, but there are. When I had the Panasonic DMP-BD60 a few months ago, it had better pq for blu-ray and dvd than the JVC.

I just reordered 320 again, but this time at 6ave.com and got in the low $300's with the 5% off coupon. I really like the 320, but my first one was defective from amazon due the way the packed it. I hope that the second unit is better.

I see you getting some heat on avsforum. I wouldn't be concerned and you probably aren't. I've been trying some players lately and it appears some start to malfunction just before return policy date or I find another one with better PQ and AQ with my display, etc.

It doesn't change the fact that I felt the specific player was good to begin with and I've posted results as I tested it. It is nice to see there are some pretty decent choices out there for one's buck at this point though in various price ranges.

One has to be comfortable, that is the important thing. Reading all these reviews and then opinions on forums tends to make some folks'd uncomfortable though with their initial impression and makes folks change their minds because the return policy limit approaches.

Thanks for sharing your experiences, much appreciated.

Kage,

If your going to test differences between brands, why don't you buy 2 or 3 at the same time. make a side by side comparison. Especially if you have no problems ordering something and sending it back so you can "test " to see if you like it or not.

It doesn't make any sense to order a 320 form Amazon send it back for a JVC, not like the JVC send it back to Amazon, and then buy the 320 from 6th ave. Thinking the 320 from 6th ave will be any different from the one from Amazon. If Amazon is going to be your ginneau pig for testing, then at least give them the courtesy of your business. B/S if you ask me.
