Wow... DVD isn't as good as Blu-ray? Who knew?

I wouldn't say DVD is "Trash" but Blu-ray is certainly exponentially better (in multiple ways also) than DVD or Upconverted "Voodoo-Pseudo-Scientific" DVDs.....

I still watch a lot of stuff on DVD, and really it's fine.... but I just watch it on my televisions if it's not a good transfer...... Good transfers still get the 106" treatment

All I know is, it's better.
I don't want the Skynet edition, it's got DNR and EE applied to it.
Geneon hasn't.

I like DNR.

I thought Star Trek 3 looked the best so far and I was told it had DNR.

As long as the image is bright and clear that is all that matters to me.

I am awestruck at the beauty that is Blu. I will say....my wife put on a 10/15 year old DVD (the Sound of Music) after I promised her that our equipment would upscale it and make it look a bit better. It looked awesome and sounded awesome. Not BD awesome, but for an old old DVD we were amazed.

I thank God everyday for allowing me the blessing of living my life in today's technology.

To me.. I don't like the DVD cases anymore.. too big for me

Anyway, I never started really watching, or even buying movies till I got my PS3 in November 08. I had about 60 DVD's from 2000-2008, and now I have about 90 Blu-Ray movies in a 6 month time period. I have about 30 DVD's left to trade since I'm upgrading to Blu.

I can't stand the pics on some DVD's.. I guess I'm spoiled.

My wife used to think like most people, and dvds used to look good enough and all... until I started buying BD movies regularly, and now she is much more picky on the PQ department than all of her friends!

while I still have no problem watching DVDs...... the cases are kinda funny now that I look at them.... when they came out, they wanted to differentiate themselves from CDs, but they went too big in my opinion....... I actually wish Blu-ray would have done a CD sized case, in plastic, with rounded corners (basically knock two inches off the top)

Also... the wife told me to put "Bride Wars" as the first movie in the netflix queue..... so I asked her if she just wanted it on DVD to watch downstairs, or if she wanted a Blu-ray for the media room, or bedroom...... She got this guilty smile on her face and told me that after watching movies on the "big screen" she doesn't want to watch them any other way

I gave her a lot of grief, because she was telling me I was "insane" and it wasn't needed etc... and basically wanted me to return the projector after I took it out of the box and projected it on the wall to show her the size...... yeah... she's come around

sorry... way off-topic! Either way..... We watched "Bugs Life" not too long ago on the big-screen on DVD, and it looked fine..... but compared to Cars/Rat/Wall-E etc.. on Blu-ray, the colors and detail don't come close to comparing...... but it certainly doesn't mean I don't enjoy the movie

Just got the T3 steelbook yesterday.

I think they all look better than they ever have.

Could be....maybe...a little better, but I'm happy.
