35% is consistent with other anecdotal evidence of 360 failure rates. Compare this to recent reports of PS3 <1%.

And compare it to PS1 and PS2 early batches as well.

I'm not ragging or arguing, I'm just making sure people don't forget that.

My younger cousin just got a 360 because my older cousin (his father) got a good deal on it. I hope nothing happens to it and was thinking that after they saw the crap I went through with my 360 and 2 replacements that they would stay as far away from the 360 as possible.

Replacements or not, its still where the best gaming is right now. PS3 has some good titles coming out, but its still lacking. It will catch up, but its quite a bit behind right now.

The big advantages I see on the 360 are:

1) Xbox Live (and all the integration of it with games, friends..etc)

2) Xbox Live Arcade - I think being able to download a trial of every arcade game is huge - There are 3 titles I purchased on my PS3 and I MIGHT have purchased more if I could have played trials of them.

3) Achievements - I never thought I'd get in to these, but COD2 was the first title I owned and the replay value was increased greatly by achievements. Its the achivements alone that got me to buy Madden 08 for the 360 - I want to buy a game for my PS3, but its not gonna be a dual format. I think Lair or Warhawk will be the first one.

4) Exclusives - Both consoles have exclusives, but the 360 does have some really great looking ones ahead. Halo 3 and Mass Effect especially!

Overall though - I'd say from a hardware standpoint, I think my PS3 was a better value. (I got it with trade-ins, but..) Taking in to account my HD DVD add on, I have $600 invested in my 360. Plus I have my old Xbox wireless bridge (which was about $50) for wireless access. My PS3 was $499 and I will get (any day I hope) 5 free Blu-rays. So its as if I got the PS3 for $399. Plus it has the Wifi built in and HDMI. No large power supply either, so I only have 3 cables coming out of it - Power, HDMI and Optical. Definetly a cleaner setup. Overall though (movies aside) I'm happier with my 360 for gaming and I really like the 360 guide. I curious to see what I think of home though..

Sorry for such a long post
