No slipcover on these, but I wasn't expecting them either based on the other Dreamworks wave that came out not too long ago.
Anyway, I've attached a pic of what the box art looks like. (a little different than what the ad shows)
[Show spoiler]

Also, to clarify, I mentioned to the rep that the ad online does not make any specific mention of being released on Tuesday (this is what I meant by the BBY.com website), although it would have been just as easy to snag a paper copy of the ad to see the same information. She did not question this, but trust me, she was gone in the back a good 7-10 minutes checking to see if she could sell them to me. In fact, she originally brought out 3 of the 4 movies out and asked which ones I wanted. I said "all of them, but there should be one more", so she returned with the missing one. I also had no trouble at the register IF these were indeed sold ahead of street date. In any case, sorry for the confusion for those relying on the website info. If there are any other questions, just ask

So these have no 2D blu-rays in them ? - I know case does not mention them - but who knows how marketers think

ALSO, what is the thickness of the cases at the spine ?

There is not a separate 2D disc. I am fairly certain that you can opt to play it in 2D, but I'll check to be sure once I get home.

As for your other question, it's just a standard Blu-ray case. Was that what you were looking for?

Edit: One more thing, if anyone was wondering, the audio on all of the movies is Dolby TrueHD 7.1. So plan accordingly PS3 owners.

I asked if was a thicker case, since if was a full combo pack - then it would be 4 or more discs and a bit thicker case -

This is Pathetic by DreamWorks & BESTBUY - Not Having these as FULL COMBO PACKS like Toy Story ones are.

Wonder HOW LONG this exclusive window is ? AND if we will ever see full combo packs with 2d and 3d discs ?

Also could you please post photos of the back cases of each ?

I did what most others did. I ordered the glasses set off of Ebay for $130. Sold the glasses for $100 as my tv uses IR or DLP Link. Sent in the coupons and received 2 Shrek 4s and Megamind. Sold 1 of the Shrek 4s for $20 to someone who threw out their box and didn't know they had to redeem a coupon for the discs. So paid $10 out of pocket for the Shrek collection.

I also just picked up the set off eBay. The idea of paying 90 for the set instead of 38 just didn't add up for me.

The set on eBay claims that they play in 3D or 2D but if that's false, I don't really care because once I got a movie on 3D, I'm not going to watch it again in 2D format.

I watched Shrek 4 today (from the 3D promo set) on a regular 2D screen today. Played perfectly in 2D so it definitely does both 3D and 2D from the same disc.

That I do not know. Hopefully someone else here can answer that question.

How did you test them ?

My bad, was thinking Toy Story and only being 3 movies, 120 for all 4 movies or 35-40 off eBay, was a no brainer for me.

Did you notice any difference during the playback?

Here are the back covers for the movies:

Shrek 1 & 2
[Show spoiler]

Shrek 3 & 4
[Show spoiler]

Also, the disc does also play in 2D mode as well as 3D (and is even mentioned on the disc's label).

These are barebones 3d disc. You can play them in 2d on Most players. They do include a DVD as well, and a coupon for up to $8 on a Puss in Boots
