There is no guarantee that these were ever sent out in numerical order, but yes the higher numbered sets have not been brought out to the public eye. Most everyone pre-ordered and the price never dropped more than $10 so I am sure the buying spree is over. The remaining inventory will probably dwindle very slowly without a further price drop. Keep in mind it is the holiday shopping season and the popularity of this series will continue to sell, most physical media consumers have some or all 8 seasons already, and the 4k complete sets have been reported to have some playback issues.

Are the international releases also numbered? Presumably if they are, it's not from the same pool as the US, although who knows...

Yeah I agree, all of that makes sense. I'm hoping to pull the trigger soon. I'll see what happens.

Is that 7600 world wide or just for the US?

Are the Steelbooks the same as the US version? i.e. swing trays in seasons 1-6, 2-by-1 in season 7 and then two sets of 3 stacked in season 8?

Yes. Everything the same apart from localised ratings ofc. Thank god they use stickers for these boxes, so they came straight off lol.

Suspected that would be the case. I'd had this on order from the day the pre-orders went up back in July, but cancelled a couple of weeks ago. The presentation, particularly the way the last two seasons are handeled packaging wise was a part of that. That and the fact that the inside art was a major disappointment to me.

I know it's incredibly unlikely but I hope we get another Steelbook release later on. Of all the films and TV series out there this one has such a wealth of art/stills that could be have been utilised. The chosen art is IMO, so uninspired.

My steels arrived today from WB Store UK! Pristine and great packing! As mentioned no numbering sticker and UK/Ireland age ratings that peel off with ease.

I checked the discs as I know others in the US didn’t get the right ones - all fine... just need to play them now...

Has the o-ring card a sliver foil print?

Could you or someone other who has the UK version please make a quick photo of the back card?

Not sure I'd say silver foil, but silvery/shiney card that can get grease marks very easily (as seen in the below photos - couldn't be bothered to try and clean them before taking the photos).

Some quick photos, apologies for poor quality. The ratings logos on the sides are stickers that can be peeled off. Inside cases identical to other releases as previously stated, just with the UK/Ireland discs inside.

Based on the recent UK photos, looks like Best Buy is limited to 7600. International versions are likely available in a smaller unmarked number, but in addition to, the U.S. sets. Just my .02 Euros.

Not sure if it’s been brought up but the plastic housing for the discs are extremely tight in this set. I’d recommend everyone check their entire set for cracked discs. I just happened to throw in Hardhome from S5 to see/hear how this turned out and it started pixelating like mad. Figured something must’ve been on the disc but upon inspection noticed it was actually cracked near the center. Thank God I noticed it and was able to hit BB for an exchange as I don’t make a habit of inspecting discs after a purchase. Would’ve sucked to notice this a year or so from now when I revisit the series and be out one disc from a $230 set. Needless to say this was a wake up call for me to physically check each disc immediately after a purchase going forward. .

I think there might actually be more of the international version. Amazon UK, Zavvi, HMV and Warner Bros. Shop UK have huge inventory of these. Amazon France has 611 copies at time of writing. I don't think this set is going to be hard to obtain, and could well see substantial discounting in the near future.

Thank you for assisting in the efforts to track available inventory on this limited, but not too limited set. There is a huge number of potential buyers in the world, but the price is high, and the quantity is sufficient for the short term. How short that is and how willing the warehouses are to commit long term storage space will be realized sometime before the end of 2021. WB did a great job of making enough of these to meet demand through the holidays without shortages and third party sellers catapulting prices. I got the Warner Bros. Shop UK cart up to 76 before it stopped allowing me to add more.

I have seen the steelbook sets pop up now and then on Best Buy's website, generally found for in-store pick up though. It would not surprise me if more are planned since it sold so well but I could be wrong. I know that Halloween 4K steelbook sold very well and then sold out, prices jumped to $50+ on eBay, and last week more were released to Best Buy stores at the original $19.99 price point and are quite easy to find right now. But then again, the LOTR set is certainly a bigger more expensive set to produce so there could be more or there may not be but keep an eye on their website.

Unlike all of the other steelbook boxed sets that Best Buy has offered, the GoT sets are individually numbered to 7500. If they were to do a second run/printing/whatever, that wouldn't sit well with collectors. Extending/reprinting numbered editions is a big no-no. So I see it highly unlikely that there will be more.

That said, my local store has 3 of the steelbook sets in stock, so I think it likely that these will be easy to find for quite some time.

Can't wait until this goes on sale for half off or something so I can replace all my old ass Best Buy exclusive house editions that take up hella space. I still have the original Stark version of season 1 factory sealed... the version that came with the DVDs and still have Bush's head on a pike, wonder if it's more valuable because of that. I would imagine...
