I like slips but when people return movies to online stores because a movie doesn't come with it? Ugh.

I just received a copy today and it came with a lenticular cover. Shipped on Tuesday it seems.

They have no internal mechanism to check stock (besides quantity) and report to customers or CS reps apparently.

Why is this so thick? Is there a book inside, or just the extended cut disc?

This is under $25, so you might have problems PM-ing with BB unless you buy more stuff.

So $14.99 at Amazon eh??? What's the catch??? Why the huge price drop??

Still that is one hell of a deal. Too bad I'm nearly broke as I need this and it's been on my Wish List for ages.

Yeah I knew about that. I just want the first one though hence why I want the 40th Anniversary edition of it. I'm not going to pay for those two sequels which are pure shit.

That extra money can be used for other and better Blu-rays

I agree, the sequels are not worth talking about. Besides, I'm pretty sure it's 3 sequels. Well, maybe 4 since we have 2 different versions of the 3rd sequel since nearly everything were reshot and changed.

Why? Would you pick the one copy without in a store, if all the other copies there had one? I really really really doubt it. amazon says I don't have to accept it if I wouldn't buy it in a store. I have never before returned anything to amazon except damaged.

Plenty of people return things because they decide they don't like it, or don't want it. I am doing it for that too. amazon really should match up their photos of items with the actual items they're shipping. They have been extremely sloppy lately with not even having proper descriptions, like completely wrong, not even similar item described in "product description". Many region B BDs they sell don't even say that, and I don't mean from a third party = bound to cause problems.

We are going on faith a lot when we buy stuff just based on what amazon shows. Best to be as accurate as possible. Besides, I do 3-4 orders a week from them, they can survive it me not liking something once...

Thumbs down

This forum is getting worst week-by-week...

I put in an order for Exorcist and also for Machete.

Machete for 5$ is an awesome deal...with or without slip. Great flick. Excellent Blu.

Draft Day is 18.75$ on pre-order. Don't know if it's regular price or a glith.... well probably a glitch since it's 34.99$ on .com

Honestly who gives a shit about slipcovers??? I thought it was the Bluray and it's audio and visual quality that matters??

Hell most of them get dinged up anyways. They are just cardboard for crying out loud.

1) mine doesn't mention DVD nor have the DVD logo anywhere on the package. This is not normal for something that's supposed to have the DVD in it. I'm guessing it doesn't. What's your package back (not the slip) look like? 2) No UV logo either, which I don't use anyway. 3) No lenticular slip, which every copy I've ever seen in a store (including today) has.

amazon.ca has been very very good lately for slips, for me, when until the last month I'd rate them the worst, maybe 1 slip out of a hundred for titles that B&M copies have slips (yeah, really that bad!).

Thanks. Wanted to watch this tonight, but not now, thinking I didn't get what I ordered, good thing I looked carefully.

Edit: the U.S. 3D version doesn't have the DVD logo either. Just checked every other BD title I have from this and last year with a DVD, and they all have the DVD logo, except this one. So may not be a problem after all...?

I am whiney today.

More edit: checking on the walmart site, where they give the actual barcode numbers: it matches what I got from amazon. Still POed about no lenticular, think I'll return it anyway, nobody wants 3Ds without their slips, especially lenticulars. So this post is completely useless after all. I'll leave it in case somebody else wonders about their Gravity 3D.

FWIW, I did get this deal and it arrived WITH the lenticular slip. I don't want to re-ignite the slipcover vs. movie war, but I will say that I like the look of slipcovers on the cases on my shelf - but that is just personal opinion/taste. That said, I don't always go out of my way to ensure I have a slip, but if it is supposed to come with a slip, I like to get it. I have had a few come from Amazon that should have had the slip, but didn't - kind of luck of the draw with them sometimes. I guess that is the "risk" you take for the low price deals

Clearly you're not a collector so it doesnt matter to you. But some people do like to have the most "complete" edition of something. I.E) that way when a slipcover is missing they feel as if they dont have the proper edition of the film.

I myself have paid $30 dollars above cost price of an item just to have it come with original slipcover.

JIC I'm not the only person who doesn't know this...you'd think I'd know with all the amazon orders I place, but I really didn't...a PSA then.

You have 7 days after your order is shipped to get a PM for the lowest price. IOW if the price of an item drops within that timeframe, you can get the lower price. You need to request it. You may only request the PM once, so if the price drops again within the timeframe after your original PM request, too bad. [Lightning deals don't count, kind of obviously.]

The second thing just about everybody knows, and that is the "pre-order price guarantee". I got a clarification though, since I was calling about "something else" () but noticed a pre-order that dropped and shipped today had a lower price today so I asked about the policy.

The policy is that you get the lowest price offered by .ca between your pre-order time and the ship time. Even if that lower price was only offered for a few hours. This is supposed to happen automatically, re the policy, but I am not totally convinced it always does.

See the second paragraph above. This applies to pre-orders too. And is good to know, because sometimes the price drops on the same day your pre-order ships (like for me today), but after it ships. You have 7 days to request the PM. Do not assume it will happen automatically because of the "pre-order price guarantee". This is a technicality/loop hole in the policy to maybe watch for: it is ship time, not ship date. Many prices drop on release day, I'm sure you've noticed, maybe just after all the pre-orders have shipped...

Basically, it means you can order anything new whenever you want, and you will get the lowest price they sell it for up to 7 days after it's shipped. But you need to be aware, and I think you might have to work a bit. I don't really know for sure because I don't have the time to follow the price of stuff that closely, I guess there are automatic ways, IDK.

I would almost never notice a price drop in something I have shortly after getting it, because my mind sort of automatically stops noticing "deals" I already have.

This is most useful for larger sets of course, where the price can sometimes drop dramatically very shortly after release. I presume because demand was much less than anticipated, so amazon got a good deal on a bunch of stock at the "last minute", etc.
