I just got a notification from TestFlight saying a new version is available. Which is weird, because the whole reason the beta testers needed TestFlight was for this current iteration of Moviepass. Not sure what has been released that's not on the public app store.

I got the same email, it’s the same version that was the last build before the public rollout.

It shows as version 3.0, but the version for update in the regular App Store is version 3.0.6. Says it improves search function and removes the ability for them to track to you when you're not using the app so they claim.

I've heard nothing since Saturday from the app chat. And nothing since Monday for the support ticket.

Try Twitter, apparently it's the only thing they check on a regular basis.
You actually posted the support number:

Also, I think I figured out, on iPhone anyway, what's up with the wonkiness of the theater listings. I am assuming to make check in faster, instead of look for theater, look for movie, click showtime; Movie Pass now wants you to find movie, tap poster, get listings, click showtime. You spend less time looking for the movie and focus on the theater instead. Since they are using your location when you have the app open, the theater you are standing in front of should be the first in the list. Its to cut down on time to check in.

So, they're pushing Gringo. I wonder what films Moviepass will intentionally block er, I mean, glitch this week.

Oh God, they just sent me another notification for Death Wish.

They're having an advance screening of Love Simon on Saturday night. Is it a no-no to use MoviePass on this? I know they don't allow Fathom events and whatnot.

If it appears in your app as a selectable viewing, you are good to go.

I have called and spoke to customer service multiple times, but no one there seems to know why it would be doing that! We have uninstalled the app, logged out, installed updates, etc. and nothing works!
My friend was getting that notification when we went to the movies the other night. What we found was that it actually did create the reservation, but it never notified him of that and never told him that he already had a reservation when he tried to do it again.

Then we went into his account from the app and found a link called "My current reservation".

When he went to that, it showed him his confirmation number and he was able to get his ticket.

I am far more interested in seeing those than, say, A Wrinkle in Time or Red Sparrow. I already had near-zero interest in Wrinkle in Time, and the reviews have solidified it as a pass for me.

As for Strangers 2, I am hearing mixed things about it, but I am interested. The first one I was mixed on as well - it was a good concept and beginning but I admit devolved into about 25 too many cheap jump scares

Interesting, I think it’s the opposite. But at least Transformers 4/5/whatever failed, so at least the market won’t be inundated with mediocrity forever. [emoji13]

But doesnt anyone else miss the mid-budget stuff? Now it's all giant blockbuster or small indie film. I miss the middle ground. Many of my favorite films of the 80s and 90s are from that range.

It's not really considered an advanced screening since those are typically free to attend but this is actually considered a regular paying showtime so there is a high probability it will show up on the MP app

Correct. In the past regular paid sneak previews have been treated like any other regular movie and MoviePass has worked on them (provided they are not like IMAX or 3D)

They did reply on twitter pretty quickly, but just a boiler plate response asking for info. Sent that in (for a 3rd time) and no response. As long as they reimburse the tickets I'll be happy.

Try sending an email to refunds@moviepass.com with a picture of you ticket stub (and receipt if you have it) attached and an explanation of what happened. That has worked for me in the past.

Did you get an email that you would need to upload ticket stubs (I haven't). MP said it is one program they are testing to combat abuse of the system, and right now it is just going to be a small % of users (I'm guessing either people they suspect of abusing the system, people who have agreed to beta testing before, or just purely chosen at random).

I have not.

But then again, I've never gotten a single email from MoviePass in 6+ months.

I get emails 1-2 times a week from them, and never got anything about it though.

I also see a theater offering e-tickets for the first time a couple days ago, I've never been there as it's out of the way and basically just does old screenings, but I will look for a chance to try that at some point.

Lame. Star Wars is playing in 3D at a second run theater for $6, but MoviePass has greyed it out. Obviously they don’t know how much it costs.

No 3D or IMAX regardless of cost through MoviePass.
