Personally, I still think it's worth it. We're all in agreement that NEITHER transfer (the 1080p Blu or 4K UHD) is what it "should be".... but the UHD is indeed a significant improvement, in my opinion. The Blu was so overly bright that it didn't even look like a "scary movie" anymore; I always had to lower the Brightness setting on my projector by three clicks... and even then it was still over-cooked. The UHD sits in a much more appropriate space, in terms of atmospheric darkness. And the toning down of Universal's trademark over-sharpening is a HUGE plus. That fake non-film-grain noise on the old 1080p disc is painful and shocking to see, once you've spent some time with the UHD.

As a good indicator of everything I've been saying, check out the "5th comparison" at caps-a-holic. It pretty much says it all:

Edit: I'm talking about the original, of course. I only like the first two movies, and TLW already looks great.
Well there sort of is. Not a full-blown restoration like the 4Kxx Star Wars, but a pretty good preservation.

And yet that also highlights the problems with the UHD quite nicely. It's got such a smeary, smudgy look to the 'grain', or what's left of it, and the poor chroma compression gives it a very bitty feel. DAMN YOU, Universal.

He must have had some rewards points built up, coupons, or something else, to get the price down to $25.
I ran price tracking on Honey and this collection has never been $25 before this Prime Day.

I paid $25 on Black Friday when I was scouting my deals in-person the night before. It was actually $19.99 as a doorbuster I believe, and I failed to go back and get a price adjustment.

Here is proof.

Looks like a new set is coming out on September 10th in non-book packaging. Universal's press site also says " Packaging: Slim Snap Cases with Outer Box." Plural "cases" seems like it may be individual cases for each movie, which I personally would prefer, but even if not, this is still better. I'd much rather have trays than cardboard slots lol

When is Universal ever going to release them individually like they did for The Fast and the Furious franchise and The Mummy franchise?

When will Universal finally release the first movie with its original color-timing and not as a smeary mess?

Of semi-equal importance, when will they give JP3 a good release AT ALL? It looks like the BD master given an upscale and more filtering work. Shame for shame Universal.

My guess would be two five-disc cases in a slip box.

I really wish there was a way to be notified when someone replied to you aside from text message alerts, as I don't have a phone. Had no idea you said this to me two months ago. I also wish I knew where to find this restoration.

I learned after I watched Jurassic Park yesterday that Ariana Richards (Lex) went on to become a professional painter.

I kind of want this one she did in '95, but it's a bit too pricey for me.

Literally anything to not buy the version with the cardboard slide slots, or badly stacked discs in a steel. I get the discs are now more resistant to scratches, doesn't mean you have to put them to the test studios.

I'll have to wait until literally everyone else stops destroying my wallet to nab this, even though I'm technically double dipping on Fallen Kingdom.

Perhaps, the spine photo they have looks large enough for 5 cases though, but no way of knowing until it's out. I prefer individual releases, specifically if a franchise isn't "complete" (they wanted a third JW, but that may or may not happen) but I'd be fine with a 4K case and a BD case as long as each disc has it's own tray.

I'll have to wait to, absolutely crushed under the amount coming up...
