The UHD gets the colors just about right and is the best looking version to date IMO but that all depends on how capable your display is at properly rendering HDR. |

Any 3d release that I've seen, when sourced from the same master, always has the same color and contrast as the 2d version.

The 3D works okay watching 3D though. The orange skin tones are more tolerable. I also didn't mind the DNR for 3D considering it's trying to replicate "real life" with no intent to support the original version of the movie. |

JP 3D has wildly different color grading than the 2D blu-ray that more closely reflects the original look of the film with a strong orange push. The 4K disc refines that look with HDR and has the overall best appearance.

There may be some misunderstanding. You said that they boosted the saturation to compensate for 3d glasses. I was only saying that I've never seen evidence of that being done for 3d releases. It may further clarify things to say that I believe the 3d release to have the most accurate color and contrast of all current releases.

Jurassic Park III transfer really is super disappointing. And I love the movie itself more than some do, so it stings that it didn't get the same treatment as Lost World on UHD.
It's a worse transfer than the first, which at least is disappointing in a passable way... |

@Mierzwiak, I talked about the transfer, not the final graded look, which is unwatchable. The scan/transfer from film to UHD has the best image in terms of detail resolved.
How to add images from Imgur here? I've added the url with the [img] tags at both ends and yet they don't show up. Last edited by Riddhi2011; 09-07-2019 at 08:15 AM. |

![]() (paste it over the "http://" it's not needed) actually, i think it's "linked bbcode" you want to use, that way it shows the lower res image in the board with the link to the high res image above the posted image ![]() if that's what your trying to do ![]() Last edited by Pgcmoore; 09-07-2019 at 08:15 AM. |

The only explanation for such ridiculous statement is that JPIII is the only JP you've seen on UHD.

Anyway, these are lowrez versions of some of the JP3 UHD frames that I colour corrected to match the original 35mm colour timing and infuse life onto the dull 4K original grading -
JP3 Charlie lowrez.jpg JP3 Ellie lowrez.jpg JP3 Worst things lowrez.jpg JP3 Male raptor 1.jpg Most of us were used to the dull, non-white balanced, pinkish and low contrast look of the DVD and the Blu-rays to the point that we started to believe those were faithful to the theatrical look. The UHDs (of the first 3 films) didn't fare better, either. Based on the 35mm print frames that I saw and some of the colour timed footage on the JP3 BTS footage in the DVDs, I tried bringing back the more contrasty and saturated look of the original film. The results might be uneven but they are truer to the original colours than any home video of the film has been so far. Would love to get comments, suggestions on these. Thanks.
