I won't be getting another dog for a while, if ever. After 14 years together, it was almost like losing my child. I don't want to go through that pain again.

Any update on the screen?

Eh, I enjoy it, even though it does have some whining. It's got great A/V quality and some of the best LFE ever.

Happy 420 everybody!

No update yet but im hoping he'll come rather early Sunday So i have some time for calibrating for the 1:0 gain screen and 2-3db lowering of the tweeter/midrange volume.

The Hobbit needs too be perfect. Both my mum and my oldest brother are coming tomorrow. So im guessing the added home theater experience they get from watching movies at my place keeps them coming back for more. Hehe.

You're moving your pj shelf too, right? I'm really excited to hear if you can fully fill out that new screen with the image, and how your front three speakers sound to you, after recalibrating for the screen.

I'm lightly toasted and watching some Floyd now.

Edit: I love The Hobbit; the more times I watch it, I like it even more, but it does have a slight green tint to it and while it has some decent bass overall, it appears to be chopped off at the bottom around 40~50hz. The 7.1 surround sound is awesome though.

Nice, which Floyd?

I have watched Live at Pompeii a lot recently!

The Live 8 reunion with Roger Waters.

Live at Pompeii was filmed on 35mm film and has the potential to look and sound great on BD, if they ever release it. So was The Wall film, if they ever release it.

If you haven't seen this, it's a guy who edited video footage of the band Creed who sucks, but completely replaced the audio. You only hear the instruments you see being played, and he edits it and changes the lyrics to make them sound even more terrible than they actually are. That's the funny part. Creed Sreds 3 and 4 are the funniest of the bunch. The first time I heard these, I didn't care for them, but now I find them hilarious:

I did a quick look with a measurement tape and it appeared like i was getting around 25cm extra (50cm in all) on the left outside of the screen when going all in with the zoom.

When i check elite screens dimensions around 60cm difference in all i get between a 120" inch diagonal screen and 30cm from a 109" screen. So that's 110" if my math is correct but properly a bit less since my front speakers take a few more cm of the light path distance. But still it properly will feel like much with only ~2.5 meters from eyes too screen.

I'll keep you posted (literally lol).

Glad too hear that the surrounds are good in the movie. My subs can't go insanely low start too drop of a bit over 20Hz and my calibration gear has trouble getting all the power on the greens. So this movie could be my perfect match hahaha.

When I first saw you posted Creed vids I screamed "Noooooooo, Froggger!" Even Zappa is better than this. Then I read some more and see they're parodies. Whew, you gave me a scare.

Awhile back you posted some vids of a certain comedian. He cracked me up. I can't recall his name. I think he's deceased if that helps.

I'll preorder those as soon as they go up.

Sadly, heard Pulse was done on video and will never look better. Honestly, I'd love to have the losses audio. Very often, I watch the concerts on the TV not the PJ. It is nice to see the video, but the audio is what it is all about!

I just quoted his best bits on the bottom of the last page, if this is the guy you were talking about:

I'm listening to some Deamau5 right now, and it's slightly screwing with my conceptual continuity.

Like I've said, the first time I saw The Hobbit I was a little disappointed, but the more I've watched it, the more I like it. Can't wait to see the next two.

I hope you got your new screen up today!

I would love to have both of them on BD too. Pulse sounds pretty freakin' amazing on DVD, so I could only imagine how good it could sound in HD, but I doubt it will happen, what with it recorded on video tape.

What's up man?

No, Creed really sucks, but that's what makes those edits and redone vocals so damned funny.

I was in the mood for some Horror/Comedy today, so I went to Best Buy, and with some price matching and the Upgrade & Save sale, I got these three for about $7 each.

Thanks Tommy.

I had never seen An American Werewolf in London before, and I just finished watching it.
I thought it was awesome! Much better than I expected.

Now I'm watching Sunday night Fox cartoons before heading back in for The Frighteners.

Second that.It also sports some pretty good visuals for it's time. Two thumbs up from me

Jack Reacher also is a good one.Saw it last night, and I thought the visuals was very good.AQ too kicked ass-from a genre standpoint.

I ended up just watching tv last night and didn't make it to Frighteners, but I used to have it years ago on DVD. I plan to watch it tonight though, along with Tucker and Dale vs Evil.
