These are all close, but not quite: Eva, Koch Antiqua, Kuenstler, Locarno.

I searched myfonts.com but couldn't find an exact match. Maybe the designer tweaked the font a bit?

Found this picture online, thought it might make for a good design scheme. I particularly like the outline on the front and how the spine color is continued onto the front(and possibly back).

reminiscent of dv8's covers:

it's only been two days since the last pissing match...... please keep the constructive criticism "CONSTRUCTIVE" and not just petty insults......

Perhaps..... "I don't know about that color.... I might have used this one instead" etc.... not "The color you used sucks"

So please.... keep it friendly...... and most importantly..... if you're participating in the thread...... you should probably be creating covers yourself....

Ok, I'll give it a shot. Just to prove to myself that I'm better than that hack Goofnut

And I'll say this. With similar tools at our disposal (Microsoft Paint only), I bet I can do better!

I agree and it is sad that it comes to this.

Yeah, I was originally putting "Stanley Kubrick's" above the titles because that's how it read on the posters. Of course, it ended up usually that on the cover that it was right below the "Stanley Kubrick Collection" banner. It seems a little redundant and overkill.

For the synopsis, yes, I will have one. The covers are all in various states of completion, so some have elements others don't.

Here are the other 3 I am working on currently

I'm going to go through and change the WB logos on the covers to reflect the actual WB logo that was in use at the time of the film's release, the ones on there now are just placeholders.

I'm also going to do Lolita (for which I can't find a poster that I would like to put on the front) and Dr. Strangelove.

The main problem I keep having is that I'm having trouble finding good hi-res scans of the posters to use. If anyone has any idea where I could get some, that'd help a lot.

Yeah, you're right. The back would be great as an insert. Just didn't feel like doing a traditional back with cast and so forth. Too lazy.

I did take out the NTSC though. Thanks for the comments.

I was wondering the same thing. Why is it that the people that can't do complain the most!

I haven't seen anything work from any of the complainers.

Big Post Alert:

First off, let me say that I'm not very good at making custom covers but I'm not letting that stop me. My covers are a bit different though because they're not blu-ray covers; they're dvd cover for blu-ray cases. I know a lot of people think this is blasphemy but, in order to minimize overall shelf space, I've been making custom covers for tv shows on dvd that I don't think will be coming to blu anytime soon - if ever. So I made covers for Rescue Me seasons 1, 2, 4 and 5 (3 is already on blu), and Angel seasons 2-5 (a friend of mine got wind of what I was doing and wanted to make the season 1 cover). Rescue Me seasons 1, 2 and 4 utilize the original front cover art but I made the back covers my own and Rescue Me season 5 and all of the Angel covers are original. Also, I don't use the specs or UPC codes because I just don't really care for them.

Rescue Me - Season 1

Rescue Me - Season 2

Rescue Me - Season 4

Rescue Me - Season 5

Angel - Season 2

Angel - Season 3

Angel - Season 4

Angel - Season 5

I am grooving on all the recent covers; Star Wars, Hellboy, Stanley Kubrick, Pandorum, Machette, and these new Angel covers. What did I miss?

Yeah, I'm going to take it off 2001 also. It's just I was in a hurry when I made the previews the other day and I didn't change the covers at all from the way they were then. Next time I work on them, that's the first thing I'm doing.

I can make alternate versions in white, but the main thing I was going for was trying to re create the original posters I'm using. The Shining poster was yellow and the EWS one was purple, so that's what I'm using (at least for the primary versions). It wouldn't be hard to change it to white if anyone wants them after.
