Common sense would dictate that the further away from you that the pj is, the quieter it will seem. I would recommend mounting it as far back as you can, reasonably. That way, you can get a larger image too. Don't sell yourself short on screensize. I went as big as I could go, within reason, and I love it. I sit way too close, according to the recommended THX viewing angle, but I freakin' love it. Over the course of the last year since I got my pj, I have backed my couch away by almost 2 feet from the screen, just so I can't see the pixels, but I couldn't imagine sitting further away than where I can't see the pixels. It's almost like homestyle IMAX.

I've probably watched it about 6 or 7 times now. The first time I watched it, I thought it was a little too mellow overall for me, but the more I've watched it, the more it's grown on me. It does seem to start out with more of their mellower songs, but it picks up steam as it goes. I catch myself humming the songs from it at work, and come home and throw it on quite often these days. I really love the Joe Walsh songs a lot.

As far as the A/V quality, it's about as good as anyone could expect. It's actually one of the most balanced BD concerts, from instrument to instrument, that I've ever heard. The highs are crisp and airy but never harsh, the mids are warm and full with lots of presence and the vocals are always up front and clear, and the LFE is perfect. On a lot of recordings, either the kick drum drowns out the bass guitar or the bass guitar is too prominent without enough bottom end on the kick, but on this, the kick drum seems very deep and articulate, yet the bass guitar is never lost in the mix. Needless to say, I'm very happy with the transfer/presentation.

I also just started reading Don Felder's book Heaven and Hell: My Life in The Eagles. Since The Eagles pretty much keep their private/partying/fighting life under wraps, it should be interesting to read about what went on behind the scenes.

That is exactly my take on that concert. I'm glad you also find it as enjoyable as me and the Mrs does. Believe it or not I still think the DVD with it's DTS cut sounds better than the blu-ray.

You think the DVD with DTS sounds better than the BD with DTS-HD MA?! That's hard to believe, especially since the BD sounds so damned good.

I have both versions and the DTS DVD version sounds more natural too me then the Blu-ray version. I have many hours on the DVD version and I think they tried too hard to make it sound better on the DTS Master version.
