Seems like something most would not want to admit...even online to people you've never met.

To quote Kate Monster from Avenue Q, "you're a pervert."

I'm so glad the people in this section of the forum care more about what films are in their collection, rather than how many they own, and what kind of packaging it comes in. Not being sarcastic there either.

Besides my typical beg for ANY Chaplin, I figure if I change my avatar to one of my favorite films, then maybe Criterion will announce it on Thursday. I am also too lazy to import this one...

If not, I will be forced to change it back!!!!

Something has to work, right.....

I'm hoping March is a light month, or a month that doesn't have anything I'd want right away. I have a huge backlog of Criterion Collection releases I want, and March/April look to be heavy on releases like Hugo, The Muppets, Sherlock Holmes, and Tintin, which I will want to pick up as well. I'm on a 2-BD a month maximum limit (whoa that looks attrociously bad), unless I get giftcards for Christmas.

I enjoyed Bicycle Thieves, but I can't see myself owning it because it's not something I'd watch repeatedly. I appreciate the film and was glad I watched it.

If they follow the pattern, it should be next July

My trusted source at my local B&N said there will be a 40% off sale on all BDs the week before Christmas...although I've never seen only a week long sale, she's never been wrong!

But yes, 50% off SHOULD be July and November. B2G1 should be January and June.

Plus, in a few weeks we should be getting a New Year's card. Anyone care to make predictions as to what will be on the card?
I'm also hoping we get a lightbulb with a flower/boxing glove (or at least an old shoe on a plate, or scrap paper with a star on it), an exploding NASA rocket, a wooden flute, a Japanese monk scribbled with kanji, a conductor's baton, a girl in fig leaves, or a script marked "O Brother..." (and I don't mean the Coens).
But that's just me. I always come up with the easy ones.

Taste of Cherry upgrade
La Promesse (Dardenne Bros films confirmed)
Eyes Without A Face upgrade
Monte Hellman Westerns
Spartacus upgrade
This would be MAJOR. It comes down to Lynch....

I just hope Certified Copy isn't off the table. I added it to the My Criterion page to give them the hint.

Mulholland Drive would be very, very nice.

And this might be asking a lot, but Eraserhead would also make an amazing Criterion edition.

What do you think the chances of any David Llynch release having his online series of Dumbland or Rabbits included as bonus features?

Dumbland Chapter 1 - YouTube
0 as any inclusion would probably have to be approved by the mercurial Lynch.

Both my wife and I really enjoyed Certified Copy. Artificial Eye released a very good region free version if you don't want to wait. Price was pretty good also, even factoring in shipping from the UK.

I would do the same. Spartacus given the Criterion Blu treatment, with all previous DVD special features included, would kick infinite amounts of butt. Hope it happens.

I have been anticipating on a Kwaidan update for over a year now, hope it gets announced. Also, All About Lily Chou-Chou, or some Tsai Ming-Liang, he has been hinted at for several years

I would like to see Tokyo Story, Early Summer, or An Autumn Afternoon announced. It's a shame that there hasn't been a Criterion blu-ray release for Ozu yet.
