I don't believe anything has come solely from DF (i.e. not sublicensed from or a co-op with Code Red) that wasn't made in the 90s or after.

Like many, I was looking forward to SOAWN months ago. When it was announced, I thought great, will buy that when it becomes available. Waited a while which happens. In the mean time, also learnt that a UK label is supposed to be releasing it too. I thought 'whoever releases it first will get my cash more than likely'.

Fast forward to this weekend and SOAWN has been made available and unavailable in the space of 24 hours. I was left unable to buy it.

Not going to complain or threaten to not buy another DF/CR title. Im just simply not buying SOAWN from them. I'll wait for the UK release. They had the chance to take my money and other customers money and they chose not to with all the sales tactics nonsense. That is their business choice and good luck to them.

If they release another title I want and make it available to me, I will buy it. If they pull another SOAWN, then it is another lost sale for them. Simple as that for me.

That is my view on it anyway. Hopefully it is a good seller for them but my sale won't be counting towards it.

Back to some boobies and beer for me. Have fun.

I can assure you Screams Of A Winter Night is not getting released by any UK company because we have the world wide rights so even if they were to release anything we would immediately sue them and shut them down. Furthermore Code Red spent years on this release assuring that it is the best and most uncut version currently on the market. It has been a difficult release but much of that has been out of our control. There were many issues with Code Red on the title.

Given what he went through to get the fourth story, even if another company tried to do an end run, they wouldn't have access to the material Code Red spent years tracking down and restoring. Maybe that company in Spain, but a skipping/freezing bootleg is hardly a substitute for a quality CR blu.

They're really not playing mind games. They terribly underestimated the number of people who would buy on the first weekend. Then Bill had a health issue, my guess is, related. As soon as DD gets the next batch, he will continue distributing it, as he has been, reliably, with Swinging Barmaids and Steel Arena and other CR titles. This was just an unfortunate screw up, a really unfortunate screw up, of the kind people sometimes make.

I know everybody's perturbed but, imagine, if you will, being Bill or David right now. They could have made more money, selling who knows how many copies this weekend, 100 or 200 more in a day. Perhaps more. That really has to hurt. So, as upset as everyone else is, I don't think anyone is as upset as they are over this whole thing and they are both highly motivated to get as many copies up and sold as they can. It's not so much a "take it or leave it" situation as a "we screwed up and we're dudes, so don't expect a gushing apology" situation. Nobody likes to have to admit they screwed up at work and both guys underestimated interest.

I bet NBC never imagined that Ellery Queen would be a sell out hit and crap, scratched, used, unplayable copies would sell, just a few years down the line, at new prices.

No I don't Joel. Dark Force didn't spend years on the release, Code Red did. We just came in at the last minute and took it over. Bill is in the hospital dealing with some major health issues right now and the last thing he is worried about is Screams Of A Winter Night. We are doing the best we can to get it out within certain limitations we have. You do know Dark Force isn't our only business.

My father in law actually fell this last summer in pretty much the same fashion. He lives alone and fell at some point during the evening and managed to get wedged between the toilet and the sink. He has balance issues and with the way he fell he I don't believe he could extend his lower arm enough to free himself. He also hit his head on something or other as he mentioned that he wasn't sure how long he was stuck their. His brother found him after my sister in law called him and asked him to go find out what was going on as no one had heard from him in a day or two. He was able to help free him, but they ended up going to the hospital as a result. He spent a few days in the hospital and also another 2 weeks in a rehab place before he could go back home. We believe he was stuck for around 24 hours but it may have been more/less. It was pretty apparent that had no one thought to check on him he would have likely died that way.

I don't know if all/any of what has been stated is true or not, but I can also state that it wouldn't surprise me in the least if 100% of it was true as well.

Glad your father in law did not suffer a worse fate, hopefully someone got him Life-Alert after that experience.

As someone who occasionally deals with architects regarding bathroom layouts, it is important that when you get to an age when balance becomes an issue and falling down can cause serious harm, you need to have someone install hand rails next to and behind the toilet and also in the shower to help prevent you from falling.

I’m certain he could fall and get stuck, that’s clearly not the questionable aspect of the story.
