Once it says it's out for delivery, then that's pretty much it until it arrives on your doorstep. The same thing has happened to me a couple of times. Annoying as hell, but it usually comes the next day.

I have the js8500 tv and k8500 player as well. The picture quality on your tv is couple notches higher but not that vastly different, and i'm gonna have to disagree with you on that, especially the HDR/natural comment. Come on guy, but then again you're using warm 1 sooooo

Since the new blu ray is the same as the old blu-ray, and since I like the disc art on the old release, I took out the ugly plain disc from the new set and put in the old disc and now Im going to sell the new BD.

Crouching Tiger remastered BD is also available as a separate release. There is no separate release of Starship Troopers. It's pointless to buy a 4K UHD version if you have no intention of upgrading. |

Just watched it and it looks great. There was only one scene where things seemed a little off which was the scene where they exit their school and run Denise Richards and Casper Van Dean run over to check their tests scores near the beginning of the film. There seemed to be some awkward stutter as they ran but even that was just a few seconds. Everything else was great and the color looked really good. I've always loved this film as well so no complaints from me on this release.

This disc is so gorgeous. Amazing, amazing remaster and put perfectly onto UHD disc like Sony always do. Yes it is grainy, especially darker indoor shots, and yes it looks stunningly film-like and detailed as a result. Daytime scenes pop pop pop and look so detailed it puts 4k mastered digital movies like The Revenant to shame. The CGI and models look much improved with HDR for the most part, though some overly ambitious bits are what they are. My jaw was pretty much on the floor the whole movie though. I put the BD in afterward and literally laughed after a handful of seconds and stopped bothering to compare.
Flesh tones looked perfectly fine to me, and I use Warm 2 like good little boys and girls should. Casper Van Dien is one tan ass dude which might be throwing people off, and some lighting is very warm, but in general I thought flesh tones on Busey, Ironside and the rest looked perfectly normal and lovely. I literally have zero to complain about with this disc, I'd give it a 5/5 if I reviewed shit on here. |

Awesome! Thanks for the review. I had the DVD, Superbit DVD, and the original BD release and thought they looked spectacular. What you describe here makes me very happy: a wonderfully detailed, film like image with natural colors and depth. If you laughed at a stellar BD this must be something special indeed. Time to add this to my UHD pile. Once I get a job, I will have to start looking at OLED sets and UHD drives because you all sound like you are really experiencing something special, especially these 4K film transfers. I love love love it.
What do you mean when the daylight scenes pop? I hear that term a lot and am not sure what it means. A lot of detail and rich natural color that gives the image a lot of depth? I definitely felt that when seeing Dunkirk in 15/70. I am really looking forward to seeing the UHD releases of RoboCop and Total Recall, the latter in particular being one of the best transfers I have ever seen. Rich, tight, healthy amounts of grain with loads of depth, detail and wonderful color, odd milky sections being aberrations in my mind given everything else.
