For those of you who can’t abide the price of the Steelbook and/or are waiting on a more practical case and are getting impatient, Australia had a 4K release this week of the three films on 4K. The discs come in an Aussie standard 15mm wide UHD case, with a hub for each disc (the standard hub and a two-sided flipper disc holder)

Here is a link to JB HiFi (the last bastion for physical media in Australia). Not sure what kind of exporters they are, but I am pretty sure they sell overseas, if one is looking to import.

I have only spot tested the movies yesterday, they were OK but I wasn't over the moon about the PQ. I thought #13 was DNR to death, is it me that wasn't in the right mood or could they have been better?

As long as you redeemed the code in MA, then it will port as soon as Vudu adds them in 4K. They are lagging behind in doing that.

Perhaps the DNR is a bit more aggressive than ideal but there looks like lots of extra detail revealed in those highlights.

I didn't see any aggressive DNR. More refined detail and grain, some slightly soft shots. It looked wonderful to my eyes. Wasn't so happy with 12 and 13 but I imagine they are still a step up from the old blus.

Man, the Ocean’s Thirteen master is a mess! Really surprising that the most recent of the series is the worst looking. It’s very obvious 11 and 12 are new 4K scans, most likely from the original negative even. 11 is practically a reference quality transfer. 13 looks like the same master used for the Blu Ray, with a bad HDR pass. It’s riddled with DNR so very smooth and waxy, but the colors and blown highlights are what is really throwing me off. It’s unfortunate they couldn’t have offered consistent quality for all 3 films as 11 and 12 do look really great and are upgrades from the original Blu Ray in every possible way.

13 probably had an existing DI they used, I guess? Makes sense.

Agree about the pq of 13! No idea why the video score was so high on here/on par with 11 and 12 when it's nowhere close to the first two.
