Most flesh shown, I'd say. But I can't complain about that. Gadot was great in the role and looked great, too.
Those are all great too in my opinion, but this one just felt a little more complete to me. They spent more time than you'd expect during her younger years, and the history of the Amazon women, compared to the lore of Superman, and Batman. I just felt a greater sense of the development of the character than I did with any of those others. With Batman, things just seem a bit rushed along to get him to be Batman, same with Superman. And when they are those respective characters, they seem to have everything "figured out" so to speak. Wonder Woman has a more leisurely but steady pace that slowly builds up the character, and we get to see her develop before our eyes. I feel a lot of origin films lack that degree of development. I think First Avenger did a great job in that respect too, but as a whole, I think WW is the better rounded out film.

Final assessment:

Captain America:The First Avenger = underrated/underappreciated

Wonder Woman = overrated/overappreciated

Both are very good films, even great films, and comparison between them is justified, but the results of that comparison should not be that vast between them, and if anything, Cap should have the advantage of being called the better movie, IMO.

This coming from someone who loves DC and Marvel equally, but often has to defend DC against Marvel loyalists who hate on it. Just speaking as the voice of reason here.
You could also draw parallels from red skull and zola. To the villans in this movie.

Fair enough.

Maybe it's just me, but I thought they could have spent more time on Themyscira (I loved that stuff) and especially in London (just to flesh out Sir Patrick's character -- and to have more of Etta, who was fun), but I understand that we had to get to No Man's Land and everything that comes afterwards, and the movie was running long as it was.

If Superman '78 and Batman Begins didn't exist they would have spent more time on them, too. But those films do exist, and were very popular, so they took some short cuts in relating their backgrounds, especially Batman.

Interestingly, they move fast with Superman's pre-revealed to the world origin, but they've significantly stretched out his post-reveal. Narratively, he won't match up with the character as presented at the end of Superman '78 until the end of Justice League.

Just got back really good film for a comic hero by far better than those epic failures such as Batman V Superman or Suicide Squad. Got four stars from me as there is no such thing as a 5 star comic film. 5 stars would be reserved for things like Casablanca. Seven Samurai and Star Wars (1977)

I really liked this film-- since there are inevitable comparisons to Captain America: The First Avenger (both being period-piece origin stories), I'd give the edge to Wonder Woman.

My only minor gripe is the ending, which I thought was a little too cheezy (no spoilers but it has that "Oh noooo the power of Loooove" kind of of thing going). But this is easily my favorite of these DC films so far (which isn't saying much, but still). I'd give it an 8/10.

Star Wars can get 5 stars but a movie based on a comic book can't?

Star Wars changed the entire film making industry. No comic film has ever done that.

Higher than #18, lower than #10. I'm thinking it'll be the new #15.

So what did it do again? It put a bunch of superheroes in one film. Star Wars was a transcendent film much the way GWTW was in 1939

Wait a minute, you rate movies based on what change they effected on the industry?

So Shawkshank Redemption gets what, 1 star?

I enjoyed this movie yet found there was quite a bit of logic flaws to overlook. I've only seen it once and maybe upon farther review they won't be flaws but...

Major spoilers...

[Show spoiler]- Why exactly does blowing up the plane filled with incredibly deadly gas half a mile above everyone's head help anything??? If I remember right didn't Steve say that everyone in a 50 mile radius would die if it goes off on the ground or elsewhere? I know having the plane in sight for Wonder Woman to see adds emotion and gravitas to his death but it makes no sense as the gas might disperse some but still do a ton of damage.

- Where is Themyscira? Forgive my lack of WW mythos knowledge but the movie seems to indicate it's close to Turkey? In the Mediterranean Sea? Somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean? Steve and Diana hop on a tiny boat (which I assume Diana stocked with food and water even though it's not shown) and sail for London through war infested seas? What happened to the German ships that launched the initial German raiding party? Isn't THAT a problem for the queen? Was there a naval fleet outside of their cloak? How and why was Steve shot down? It's not like the Germans could track a Bi-Plane in WWI pre-radar. A LOT of shortcuts in plot are overlooked for the sake of advancing the story.

- As powerful and as cool as the "No Man's Land" scene was... would anyone fire on a woman (and by the day's standard a beautiful NAKED woman) walking toward them with a tiny shield? There's no way anyone opens fire let alone with massive machine guns.

Again, like most superhero/fantasy films getting too literal is pointless and these things certainly didn't sink the movie for me but things like this does have my original rating at about 7.5 or so and nowhere close to 10/10 territory.

While I can't argue with your spoilers, I also find myself willing to overlook all of them. When the movie is good which is during a lot of the time it's really good and I can overlook all of the spoilers you gave.
