Freddy vs. Jason was fun for the horror fan, but it felt more like an action movie than a horror movie.

I think A New Beginning and Jason Lives could've been combined into one movie. You have the copycat at the beginning, causing Tommy to freak out and head to the cemetery to see if Jason really is dead, Jason gets reanimated, fights the impostor.

I enjoyed Freddy V Jason because as a kid I always wanted to see them face off. The movie is a guilty pleasure of mine.

That new article worries me. Sounds like they're treading in Jason Goes To Hell territory and that's not a good place to be. I'm an old school Friday fan (1-5). Keep it old school

I can understand the idea of wanting to explore new territory, but for God sakes stay away from the JGTH supernatural garbage

They say they want a Dr Loomis type character? There already is one...Tommy Jarvis.

Anyway...hope for the best, expect the worst.

Jason is actually a Deadite. He was toying around with the Necronomicon, as shown in Jason Goes to Hell. This explains his immortality.

Posted before elsewhere on the site but my ranking of the series goes:

The Final Chapter
Jason Lives
Part 2
The New Blood
Part 3
Part 1
2009 Reboot
A New Beginning
Jason Takes Manhattan
Jason Goes To Hell
Freddy Vs. Jason
Jason X

With this new one I'd love to see a snow/Winter setting. Just ditch the found footage angle, IMO it doesn't work for this series at all.

Jason Vorhees is actually an aspiring filmmaker and he wears a GoPro for all his kills.

Hope they avoid the whole found footage thing. FF just seems to be getting old to me and a cheap way to film a movie.

See, I think this is stupid, and sorta brilliant. For a new slasher I mean. A cool concept, one that I actually wrote down a while ago myself.

This was done already, sort of. In VHS2, a zombie is attacking live people with a gopro on his bike helmet.

Agreed. Off topic, but I enjoyed VHS and VHS2. Part 3 was okay, I guess.

As for Mr. Voorhees, I'm cautiously waiting to see what they cook up. I don't really care for Brad Fuller and co. though so my hopes are pretty low.

I hated VHS: Viral. Was more to do with what unique way they can film a story than the story itself. That and the fact that the Horror was extremely light.

Regarding Jason and his next exploits. You only need be a competent film-maker to do him justice. Friday the 13th isn't a difficult thing to get right IMO.
