The european models are different from the american models. The european models have a seperate media reciever and are ISF capable. The american models are a limited run of about 3000 each.

For some reason I was thinking about the 111/151 for the DVI imput. The KRP also has the pc input and the RS-232c, but the european KRP does not have the DVI input and has 4 HDMI , USB and 2 RS-232c. This is starting to get confusing.
The Europe and American website says it has 2 HDMI inputs and a DVI for the KRP models. I forgot about reading about the limited run of 3,000 of these KRP-500M and KRP-600M in the United States. These displays are on the US website like you said, but you have to search for it. It is not under the regualr list with the other Kuro displays.

Actually, the 500/600A have the seperate media box. The 500/600A's have the 4 HDMI, USB and 2 RS-232c inputs.
The american and european 500/600M's appear to be almost identical.

Like I said, this is starting to get confusing.

Are we talking about the same models? The KRP-500M and KRP-600M on the US and Europe site list 2 HDMI inputs with no USB.

Do you have a link to the 500A and 600A? I can not find it on the Pioneer USA website. Where did those models come from? Another limited run?

The KRP-500A and KRP-600A can be found on the Europe website and appears to be Europe and/or international models only. Does not appear on the US website when I search for those models.

Right. The 500/600A is the european set with the separate media box. They do have the extra HDMI's and a USB. I don't think they are limited.

I just up graded to a kuro 5020 from a Samsung 450 and wow huge wonderful difference. i also upgraded my Yamaha receiver to an elite sc05, and again wow ! the only problem i have is that i got the kuro as an open box item and it didn't have a remote so i have been using the receiver remote for the basic uses, the thing i can't figure out is how to get into the menu to adjust settings using the receiver remote. i can change certien things in the tool bar, but thats it. any ideas? o and the kuro runs pretty hot is this normal ? going to post some pics soon

I'm glad you're enjoying it so much & congrats!! All plasmas run a little hotter then LCDs do, it's very normal. as far as getting into the picture settings, either get a cheap HEB universal remote or get a very nice one that will last years to come & make your life SO much easier! You can find a nice Harmony for pretty cheap these days, you should look into them.

i have ordered an harmony 890 off e-bay, just waiting in excitement for it to come. i just really want to calibrate my tv. Last night when watching my Detroit red wings put a spanking on Pittsburgh i noticed a spot on my kuro. at first i thought it was a dirt spot so i garbed my cleaner and my cloth and went to whip away but it would not be removed, its a round darker spot on my tv. it only really noticeable in white or light color scenes i say its about the size of a dine or nickel. has this been a problem with anyone else?i do know plasmas run hotter then lcds i am up grading from a samsung 50inch plasma and the pioneer runs alot hotter

Oh good, you will love the 890! Where on the TV is the "spot"? Plasmas run hot like we established. A lot hotter just does not tell me quite how hot that is. When you can get in the picture settings, use "Movie" & lower the Brightness, I'll set you up with some all around good settings to use & for Sports too. I can tell you need to lower the Brightness on whatever setting was being used in your gallery? I know you cant change them as of now so no big deal.

Also , do the fans kick on in the back of the display?

I like the picture quality of the Elite Signature Series monitors the best but for the average consumer the standard Elites like the PRO-111FD is a better value since they come with the table top stand to mount the TV on, they also include the tuners, and the 2 side stereo speakers.

For anyone that is interested in the Pioneer Elite PRO-111FD 50 inch that had an original list price of $5,000, the Ultimate Electronics stores have them on clearance for only $2,496.96.
http://www.ultimateelectronics.com/product.php?id=PIOPRO111FD

Here is a list of all the locations nationwide where a Ultimate Electronics store can be found
http://www.ultimateelectronics.com/stores.php#

From a reliable mail order source, I am hearing that some discount mail order companies are going to be selling the PRO-111FD for under $2,300 in a few weeks or months. The US Pioneer factory where these screens were made closed in April 2009. It sounds like these might be the last shipment of screens coming out of the Pioneer U.S. warehouse. Soon these screens will be hard to find. Once and a while I see people selling the PRO-111FD on EBAY between $3,000-$3,700+. Prices are all over the board.

Here is some links to download 3 color PDF reviews on the PRO-111FD. This display has so many good reviews and received 2008 product of the year award from at least two different magazines.
