I think pending on the success of The Mummy and The Purge would be misguided since Jurassic Park is broadly more popular franchise then both of those combined. Hell, the sales data would probably even claim it.

Both those series were split up within 6 months of the set coming out. We are going on 3 years since the first Jurassic set came out and still no split. They might not see the value in making 4 new skus with the majority of people who want any of them probably already having the 4 or 5 movie sets for under $40 by now.

While I see your point, they could just be waiting for the new release of Jurassic World: Dominion before they did any new individual re-releases of the prior films. Also, many claimed Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III needed new 4K remasters since the prior 4K releases were widely considered underwhelming. I guess we'll see in due time.

The theory that Uni went back to older raw scans makes sense.

It would explain why TLW looks better than 1 & 3, seeing as it looks better than both on BD as well.

Hello.

I was looking to see if this one included digital copy and it seems that it does, but I could not find anything in the package.

Are the codes hidden somewhere in that digibook format?

Thanks.

Where did you find the codes? I did not see anything in my digibook package.

Thanks.

I bought mine new and sealed from eBay and it came with a code slip in the package. Universal has been known to re-release Blu-rays with no digital codes included, so perhaps this is the case. Does your digibook set specifically say it comes with digital on the front?

Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but on the UK 4K UHD of Jurassic Park, does the colouring go strange for a brief moment during part where the lawyer tells Hammond in the jeep "if I'm not convinced, they're not convinced; I'll shut you down".

Rewatching Crystal Skull I’ve softened on the film but it remains a frustratingly mixed bag. A 6.5/10 film next to a trilogy of 10’s.

The first half is actually pretty good, but it’s the second that really drops the ball, with an overuse of CGI that almost resembles a Pixar film, scenes which are poorer versions of scenes from the trilogy, and an underwhelming ending.

It’s also lacks that pinch of horror that always gave the earlier films some spice, it’s very tame despite the higher age rating (in the UK)

There are a few weird hard hot splice edits in JP where even the music score and sound effects skip a beat. Perhaps these were last minute edits made after the film was fully cut and conformed. It could be at one of those strange cuts. A hot splice damages the frame before and after the splice. This happened to "The Abyss" as well when Cameron recut the conformed theatrical negatives to add the new scenes back in to the Director's Cut. Though, they smoothed out the soundtrack where the additions took place because it was getting a commercial rerelease, which I saw on the big screen.

Are the included Blu-rays remastered or the old discs?

We'll see what? You're not suggesting #1 and #3 will get new scans and releases. Or that all 3 film (scannable) based ones will? As that pretty much hasn't happened on 4K UHD. In the past I argued that of anything JP the original would be the first to do a "remaster" within this format.

If it were to happen, it would be 2023 not to tie into dominion coming out. The problem is a remaster would directly conflict with their PR claims those transfer were from "brand new 4K scans" from the time the set came out originally.

This is why I no longer believe it will happen how I thought, hoped. At least not until far more years into 4K masters/discs being in the wild. 2028? Who knows.

So I just got this 5 movie collection. The box was completely smashed! lol. Don't care much about that as long as the movies look a bit better than blu rays I have. I'm a sucker for Lost World and like JP3 still. Jurassic Worlds are whatever definitely more blockbuster type cheese but still watchable.

Does anyone know whether the UHD of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has the "You love a dummy" line? It was removed from the Blu-ray.

It was never in the film as exhibited in theaters, only in the trailer.

Are you certain? I distinctly remember avoiding trailers to see the movie for itself when it was first out, and I have a vivid memory of the line being delivered in theaters and me getting a good chuckle out of it.

Granted, I've seen the trailer since seeing it in theaters, but my memory of this could absolutely be clouded somehow from that.

Yeah, I researched it for validation before replying to you.

Interesting, thanks for letting me know!

I guess the real question is... why isn't it in there? The "ventriloquist" line feels so out of place without it, or at least it did the last time I watched the movie. If it's seriously a sensitivity thing or something, then that's all forms of ridiculousness.
