Bilbo mentions my namesake on here when he says he's been as far from home as Frogmorton.

What's hoppin', Frogger?

I have The Hobbit, but it's still sealed. Never seen it. If it's only 15 minutes of extra crap, I'll pass on the extended edition. However, I really want to visit Frogmorton. I bet it's magical.

Personally, I love anything Tolkien. I'm about 200 pages into The Silmarillion right now, but as far as Peter Jackson's films go, I think each one progressively deviated from the original source material than the last. I love all of the Middle-Earth films, but so far, I think the first one; Fellowship of the Ring is by far my favorite. It has the most heart, and is the one that comes closest to effortlessly taking to another world.

Howdy Wabs.

If I'm not mistaken, Frogmorton is based off of frog=frog mor=dark/dead ton=rustic for town, so basically it means dark frog/dead frog town. It's a lovely place!

I wonder why it's only going to be 15 mins or so. The original LOTR Trilogy's Ext Editions were all what, 30-45 mins Extra per movie? Wonder why this one is just 15 mins longer

I didn't get the original version as I/(All of us) KNEW there'd be an Extended Edition, & so I will get that one when the price comes down a bit
[Show spoiler]($15-18, unless I have a nice amount of Shopkick Pts to lower the price for me )

But what could be better than a town full of dead frogs?

I'm surprised at how moderately composed I was last night, considering that I was completely blitzed.

Not counting the 20 minutes or so of fan credits at the end of the extended versions, they have an additional:

Fellowship of the Ring: 30min.
The Two Towers: 43 1/2min.
Return of the King: 49 1/2min.

(Total extra runtime: 2hrs 3min.)

The Hobbit: 13min.

I'll still be picking up the extended edition though. I'll just sell my theatrical version to offset the cost.

Thanks for that Tommy! That looks like it has some good potential. I have a feeling that Smaug is going to be the most badass movie dragon ever!

I just picked up these two today:

I blind-bought This is the End, but it looks like my kind of crazy over the top comedy. I used to have the old BD of Halloween, but I sold it in anticipation of this new transfer, supervised by the original cinematographer Dean Cundey and director John Carpenter, plus it has an all new 7.1 TrueHD audio mix.

I'll be checking them both out shortly!

If it's not a real live dragon playing the part of Smaug i won't be watching this movie.

I bet the French chefs love that town. Frog legs every night. Oui-oui. sacré bleu.

You were very well behaved last night. How did that happen?

Congrats on the new Halloween!

I really need it, but waiting on region code confirmation for the UK SteelBook.

Yea, I'll be getting that new "HALLOWEEN" digibook at some point also, though I think they blew it with that as the cover art
(glad to see it recv'd a new 7.1 Audio mix)
