The few individual title netork blus I'd bought; To Die For, Ipcress File, Quiller Memorandum, Capricorn One, came without booklets so I figured they didn't do them. Makes me real glad that the most recent items I bought; Story of Film and World at War both came with programme notes which are really useful for those particular releases. I'd have been very disappointed to miss out on them. "First pressing only" is a bad idea IMO. Either provide them or don't. Why leave a customer feeling like they missed out? Indicator, at least, have seperate price points and that's fine.

Indicator do only have booklets for first print too but they do make it absolutely clear when you will or won't get one.

Exactly. Sorry, that's what I meant to say. I like that approach. Plus I've not found it difficult to collect limited editions, even for ones that had gone OOP. There's only one I regret selling on, Eyes of Laura Mars, and I've been hoping to buy another copy back but they're thin on the ground. Bit of a silly film really but Faye Dunaway was always pure class.

I thought I was a complete tv addict as a youngster in the 70/80s but looking at Network's releases I realise how much was passing me by. It makes you think they should be receiving some sort of heritage funding!

So ALL Network releases initially come with booklets? They're as sneaky as Cohen about it then.

No.

They'll normally tell you when they do, but not always. Some Network releases don't have booklets, but great big books (and they are certainly advertised and exclusive to limited or deluxe editions).

All the labels are following suit with the same booklet model. It makes sense as it adds cost to a release, so why be printing booklets when you're selling it off cheap? It gives incentive to buyers to buy early and not wait for a sale. If you can't miss out on booklets then you need to get in early. It supports the label at the end of the day, so is a mutually beneficial thing.

I can't really argue with that. And to be honest I haven't really had that much trouble finding pre-owned bookleted copies of titles whose first pressings sold out long before I started collecting. But as far as new titles go, 6 months or so after release, I won't make that purchase if I'm uncertain about a booklet's inclusion. I'd rather buy pre-owned from ebay where the booklet's inclusion is confirmed. But that's just me. You're right though. It's good to support a label. I just couldn't buy every new release I'm interested in having. There's just so much out there and bargains in any given month take precedence.

When they say (for the four Oct releases) "Limited Web-Exclusive O-Card" - do you think they mean exclusive to Network's website only or do you think they mean you'll be able to get them elsewhere online, just not in physical stores?

Some of those look really cool - thanks for sharing. I don't tend to buy DVDs now if I can help it, but love that sleeve on Tales of Unease - may have to pick that up.

Same, but I’m still all in! It’ll be at home next to my Space Ghost C2C DVD box from Australia/Madman.

i wish consumers weren't dumb enough over here for publishers to consider SD-blu-ray releases atleast for the stuff that stands no chance of getting HD versions, all my shelves are pretty much blu-ray sized

I would say it's Networks website only. But I maybe wrong as I frequently am.

They "deluxe" and limited releases are often exclusive to their website and partners (such as the Gerry Anderson deluxe Blu-rays also appearing on Anderson Store.) Normal stores get a bog-standard version later on.

This isn't a rule though, Network aren't one for consistency.

Have been meaning to ask about this British horror film for a while now, Nothing But the Night (the cast including Sir Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing). Have got the Scorpion DVD, but I was hoping this would eventually get a Blu-ray release. Is there a HD master, and in the UK is the film owned by ITV? Was thinking this would be a good fit for Network.

Got my Eurotrash set today. Seems none of the specials are included.

Also, the dreaded statement on the back ... "Some edits have been made to certain shows for contractual reasons" ...

Includes 18 page booklet listing a synopsis of each episodes contents.

Edit: Added some pics.

I also scanned the booklet in as a PDF was gonna upload for ref so people could see the stuff on the episodes, but its scanned as a PDF ...
