Sure Jan

I'm enthusiastic about Physical Media on a forum at Blu Ray dot com. Imagine that.

Count the number of Sub-Forums whose subject matter is either BD or UHD-BD. Then I'll count the ones that have nothing to do with HQ Physical Media. Want to bet who comes up with the bigger number?

I reported you post with profanity as a last ditch attempt to get you to do something useful with your time.

I'm happy to see you have used a few civilized words in the meantime.

I'm done arguing with you. I don't think I need to prove anything.

This is just the usual case of I'm right and you refuse to admit you are wrong.

Nothing changes.

You're right - your delusions of grandeur never ends! We are mortal enemies - that will never change.

That is correct. You could make 1000 post in response to non enthusiast and they will rarely ever change. At least that has been my experience and I have been posting in public forums for many years.

Some trivia - I have been visiting this site since it came online (2002 or 2003). I would come here looking to see if any new Blu-ray players and/or recorders had been posted here.

It's stupid and myopic not to see the convivence of streaming
yes you can stream to your phone (assuming data connection) but I am an adult so I don't do that. But talking about being stupid and myopic. I have also not flown comercial in over a decade, so I wuill take your word they offer Wi-fi but is it free and (according to what Alchev says is needed for streaming - symetriacl GB).

In 2006 when I bought my PS3 (and for the next few years after that) I used to bring it with me and just hook it up to peoples TVs to watch BDs and play games, when going to their cottages (I don't do hotels). I also have a laptop that can play UHD-BDs (if I happen to need one in a plane). And I can watch UHD-BDs t my sister's cottage when ever I go there(because she has a player) but there is no cell service or internet connection there.

the point was not that in some circumstances streaming can't be mire convenient but in others it can be less convenient and so Terms like that are pure marketing to convince idiots.

Streaming will never offer high quality. That's not part of the business plan. Only a tiny minority care about quality. The majority wants choice, convivence and cheap . . . and that's why streaming is so popular and physical media is losing 18% of its market share every year. It's expensive and has limited choice.
lol again agree with cheap. If people wanted choice they would go with physical media, I have more titles in my collection (all bought based on what I and my family like) than any streaming provider. That is also why streaming providers have so much content replacement. Most people are just looking for an excuse to sit on their couch they just like the semblance of choice but anything will do. Don't get me wrong this too is nothing new that is why in the old linear Tv days people used to talk about lead-in shows (i.e. put a good show followed by crappy one hoping Joe will be too lazy to change channel and find something good on a different one)

American Airlines

Inflight Wi-Fi

Upgraded, high-speed Wi-Fi is available to buy on select domestic flights. Browse the internet, check emails and stream video services like Netflix, Hulu and HBO faster than ever before.

Pay as you fly

Wi-Fi is available on almost all routes for as little as $10.

10,000 movies at your fingertip. If that doesn't define convenient what does?

I don’t even know why you take part in this thread. I can understand the Home Media Sales section because you are (supposedly) interested in the stats and sales figures.
You have confessed you aren’t really bothered about movies, the art of film and prestige AV quality, nor cinema viewings.

You have the right to post here, of course, but I’m baffled why you do.

He loves statistics and a thread comparing formats is a logical place to post statistics (and use those statistics to argue).

That would be my guess anyway.

Maybe it's elitist, but I don't care: when I watch something, I want to see it "properly", so either in the cinema or at home with my set up. I can't imagine a worse way to watch something than on a phone. A plane is for things I wouldn't watch anyway. A book is a much better fit in these situations, or arguing with Lee.

Has anyone had this issue before? For some reason there is no sound coming out of my speakers when using any TV apps via the receiver, although player and console work fine. This is a recent development that has no obvious cause.

Yeah, I don't watch anything on my phone. Saves me a lot of money on my phone bill since I am not using up my data plan.

I was not able to pull the trigger on Last Voyage of the Demeter digital 4K, so I was able to rent it on BD via GameFly. We'll see how that goes and if I like it, I will wait for a proper 4K disc release at that time. I would have rented via RedBox but they only have the DVD, so had to go with GameFly and delay some of that instant gratification.

It could also mean YouTube and Tik-Tok.

Plus, it states streaming stick or console which obviously uses a tv regardless.

That would put the percentage of tv use well in front.

Plus, time spent is important. That chart could mean someone watching a ten minute cat video on the bus.

Anyyyyyyway, purchased Babylon in 4K today, just waiting for pre orders of Del Toro’s Pinocchio and Duel and that should be me just about done with my 4K list for this year UNLESS The Abyss gets a shock announcement before Christmas.

Nah - you just refuse to accept the results because it's something you personally don't do.
