It's way too orange and something's up with the nighttime blue gels too. Definitely better than before, but still not how it should be.

I'm so used to seeing the T-Rex logo now, that I genuinely had to check you guys weren't gaslighting me about this Spino one. But sure enough, this was the VHS I owned as a kid:

Lol the fans were wanting to cancel the Spinosaurus back in 2001 but now want it back. I wonder if we'll see it in the new movie this summer...

Was the Spinosaurus really that controversial? I was only seven when the film came out so I dunno what the fan discourse was like. I just remember watching the film on a pirate copy with Japanese subtitles, and then getting the official video for Christmas, lmao.

I was old enough to see 2 and 3 in theater. 13 when 3 came out. I loved it then and it's got several great scenes. But the ending is messed up. It seems like they had about one more big set piece planned and then just said, naw just run to the beach, the movies over.

People always selectively only care for the really treasured original art. Universal were still gonna wanna make the sequels "uniform" for marketing aesthetics reasons (as they always have when revisioning) even if the first ones were based on original poster imagery.

Can't agree it's shameless. Because if you weren't paying attention they've re-released these every few years since they came out. Literal definition of "cash cow" with repackaging the overwhelming predominant reason

The transfer for TLW is quite great imo... JPIII is pretty bad as far as UHDs go and JP is mediocre.

I remember even as a 15 year old, thinking it was pretty dumb that it was a dinosaur they completely made up rather than based on a real one.

I vividly do remember watching a video so many years ago on a Jurassic Park Retrospective(cause the guy loved the series so damn much), and went on a minute or two rant about the Spino in JP3, even to point out that the backlash was harsh enough for Universal to replace the logo. The Video was privated some time ago but I'm sure I can find it.

I'm a little upset that now is when they decide to do individuals with pretty decent artwork. Which is actually apparently the artwork they used on the 5 Film set awhile ago when that set had the 5 smaller amarays in a box instead of the 5 disc case, so I'm not too terribly upset.

I'll get 1-4, but I already have 5 and won't be buying it again and it's not like 6 will match anyway. That'll be an eventual re-release of all 6 probably lol

The Lost World is the only good one of the bunch. It hasn't been horrifically degrained, retains its soft photography and the color-timing is pretty close. The soundtrack is not the theatrical one tho iirc. So that's the only place where it's meh. In fact I'd go so far as to say it's the only one of the bunch worth owning. JP's remaster is a hot mess and JP3's disc is some kind of Frankenstein abomination of upscale-looking garbage.

Fun anal fan tips: grab TLW and pair it with a theatrical soundtrack sync from the Laserdisc. Good stopgap till Universal gets off it's bum.

The five individual movies are up on Gruv for $19.99 each. Don't forget the code SIGNUP20 for 20% off.

The covers are T-Rex with verbiage down the spine.

Apologies for not posting a picture. Any assistance would be appreciated

It triggers me that the five films aren't in the correct order.
