MacGruber
Charlie St. Cloud
The American

Couple others I can't remember now. Pirahna for $15 with the sweet slipcover I think is a great deal.

Note: These are all Universal/Alliance releases

Can anyone confirm these are available in London at the Fanshawe Parkway location? Thanks.

I would substitute "boring" for slow, but leave the emphasis on VERY. In fact, you couldn't pay me $15 to watch it again...

Hah, couldn't agree more. When I watched it, I fast forwarded through alot of it. No dialogue, nothing going on of real interest. Just long, boring, drawn out scenes that led to an ending that was nothing special. I think it took me an hour to watch the movie (with fast forwarding). I do get the appeal to some, as it's somewhat of an artistic movie. However if you're looking for a mind-blowing story, or constant dialogue, this is a rental at best.

In other news, I also remember seeing "The Kids Are All Right". The above mentioned plus this was all I saw.

I loved The American, but maybe its because I don't suffer from A.D.D. I also consider The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford to be excellent.

Haven't seen the American yet but am looking forward to it, but not somethIng I will blind buy. It was really one of those movies that divided the critics, some loved it and some hated it.

you it the nail on the head doubledown. i really enjoyed the american. thought it was very realistic and totally outside the suave, polished roles clooney normally plays. great to se him out of his element and the day chemistry between strangers. ive seen it twice already (once in theaters and once on blu) id gladly watch it again as i love the cinematography also. that being said its not everybodys cup of tea and i think the problem is that its mis-advertised as an action movie when its actually a character piece/ gritty drama. anyway, go into it with an opened mind and yoll enjoy it. go into it expecting action-fast pace, youll be dissapointed.

Damnnnnnn right! I was so much looking forward for this movie after the trailer but in the end, wow, I never sleep during movies, but this one was a big challenger for a first time.

Have a lot of people been successful in finding the movies at these prices?

I'm looking to pick up Piranha, but I've been to 3 Walmarts in the Ottawa area so far, and it's been ~$21 at all 3... while there, I also saw Scott Pilgrim on the shelf, but it was ~30. Saw a few of the other titles as well, but none were priced around the $15 mark...

Did you scan them or just see them with the ticketed price?

I scanned Piranha at all 3, and it scanned at $21.83 (or whatever it was tagged on the shelf) at each store.

From reading SigBro's original post, I kinda got the impression his store had a special display for these titles at a reduced price... in the 3 stores I went to, there was no special aisle display... just the standard 4-sided one with tv's built into it... also found Piranha on the shelf in the Blu section, but it was the same price.

Also, 2 of the stores were "Superstores" and one was not, but that didn't seem to make a difference...

I wanted to pick up "The American" but the Walmart I went to yesterday (Square One) had it at $29.93...I even had it scanned. No dice. Is this a YMMV deal?
