The 3008 is going for 1100.00 although with the new 009 series rolling out I hope the price will come down a bit on there 3008. What would be the benefit of the integra over the 3008?

I have never used a pre amp set up before. However, that would probably be a cheaper route if I paired a power amp with the 706? Although, if you think the 3008 would power the 140's, I would other that route due too cabinet space, as well as other features I like on the 3008.

Ok for the 110 surrounds if you wait to long you might end up needing to buy them used as they are discontinued. They are going to be available on the market for several months still. Focus just came up witha new line.

Not that much advantage but was just wondering, usually Integras have little upgraded parts and they come with an extra year of warranty on them but the Onkyo 3008 is a serious beast anyways and surely will be as good as an Integra in terms of performance.

It seems that the sound properties of Onkyos are very close to Integra since this past year.

Yes, I read about the new focus line and was hoping for a slightly discounted price on the 140s and 110s. Also like the nicer sound of the recent onkyo over what I've been used to over the years. Very glad to know the 3008 would suffice for the 140s

Due to the large opening of my main listening room, I often set my onkyo to ALL STEREO when in the other room. Would the 110 surrounds be ok in that setting coupled with 140s in the front running all 4 in ALL CHANNEL STEREO?

I really don't see a problem, the 110 are superb speakers and they like power.

you could get three of these for $999, and have yourself setup for your front soundstage, the Focus 200C center channel is $1200 list, you should be able to grab one at a discount since they are discontinued. Or buy one used.

The 110s will take a good amount of power. Don't worry about them. I push my X16s from time to time, and I swear the receiver and room give in before the speakers do.

The Integra 70.2 and Onkyo 3008 are nearly identical.... either should be OK.

I was using the X16s in a phantom mode without a center speaker, and that will continue until Thursday... YAY.... you could use the 140s that way also till you get a center channel. If you want you could even use the X12s or DM 2/6s as surrounds, or even look at the Audience SAT 42s

Thanks, I love the sound so far, it plays very well. and sounds identical to the the mains... as it should, but it plays really full so far, and has realism. Not just that but when watching Quantum of Solace, it played thru the action scenes great never losing dialog, was delicate in the soft scenes. Great speaker.
