Aquaman is coming home!

Yes, it will retain the IMAX aspect ratio (meaning it will open up, top and bottom of frame, during those big visuals). This is my definitive version, and made sure it stayed that way for the home release. Looks gorgeous in UHD. This is the only cut.
Quote:
It WILL switch between aspect ratios. But they happen in cuts, so you don’t really notice the switch.

how much of the movie is full screen IMAX?...I thought I read that 90% of the movie was filmed with IMAX cameras?...does that mean that 90% of the UHD will be full screen IMAX?

I almost hope that it doesn't. Too tempting! I try to avoid having a digital copy that will end up being neglected once I have the disc but they've been getting me with D+D lately with movies I either really liked in theaters or I missed and can't wait to see.

Just waiting for it to go D+D on Vudu. Probably around 5PM EST like A Star is Born did.

I love it because my extended family shares our digital account and can watch the movie two weeks early, while I still get my full quality disc and a code I can sell to someone else on the backend for the same price as just getting the disc. Plus for some reason, Vudu always seems to deliver my pre-ordered discs a couple of days early as well so it's multiple wins for me.

impressive...is that a new record as far as IMAX ratio for a Blu-ray release?

if 90% of the movie was filmed with IMAX cameras then how come 90% of the movie is not in that aspect ratio?

Because James Wan straight-up lied in order to sell tickets?

I don't think most of the people that saw the movie care about how much of the movie was filmed with IMAX cameras...that's a small percentage of videophiles on forums like this

I am curious if the 92 minutes of IMAX ratio is a record for a Blu-ray release

Dark Knight Rises had 72 minutes of IMAX footage so if Aquaman has 92 then I'm guessing it's the new record holder...Infinity War filmed mostly in IMAX but the Blu-ray release didn't come with the shifting aspect ratio or even full screen for the IMAX scenes

I wonder if I can use my Walmart credit card to get the Disc + Digital version...only bad thing is no price matching if the price drops closer to release...

Vudu payment methods are Credit Card / PayPal / Walmart or Vudu Gift Card.

Under Credit Card there isn't a specification of Visa / MC / Discover. It might work

There's not a single second shot with IMAX cameras in this movie.
