It plays the same as long as you aren’t considering video and audio quality.

Well, it doesn't exactly play the same.

One requires nothing more than a disc player and a disc while the other requires a stable internet connection to a remote server that hopefully can meet the demand upon it.

I can control the disc player and the disc, but I have no control over internet performance and server demand.

Yes, I forgot about that one. That one could get him banned.

alchav21 does seem to be fascinated by the term “server”. IIRC at one time I offered to help him setup his Windows computer so it could act as his personal server. Don’t remember getting a response.

Speaking of servers below is my Zappiti NAS server. I am now in charge of it and use it solely as a NAS for my video files. Did a small mod so I can wake or sleep it with my remote control via a X10 PUM01 Universal Module set to Momentary operation.

Yeah, but Alchav caused all kinds of problems for his commander by insisting that it’s all bullets and wouldn’t pick a side!

[Show spoiler]I joke Alchav, I have total respect for your service

Got a text from a friend who had ordered all of the Cameron 4K titles through his DMC memebership and looks like all 5 titles (True Lies, The Abyss, Aliens, Avatar & Avatar II Ultimate Collections) have finally shipped out to him, which he will then expedite to me. It's been almost a month since that order was placed. The good news is that it's been a busy month watching a ton of material on physical media, streaming, and at the theater.

I had to switch my schedule around for the weekend and I am seeing In the Land of Saints and Sinners Friday morning and switched Last Night with the Devil for Sunday night.

Wendell you really like to lower yourself and attack, and now it's Alzheimer's. I think that is very insensitive for the disease and the people that have it. Folders and Files it goes all the way back to the DOS days!

I added some of those "old" movies that we disc collectors like to fixate upon :

Impossible to have too much Film Noir.

I needed this Babylon 5 movie to complete my viewing of the Babylon 5 series and its recommended viewing order.

I added the DVD of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea even though I own the blu-ray because, as Ender14 mentioned, the DVD edition includes extensive extra features while the blu-ray has none at all.

I had to own this peculiar 1938 Edward G. Robinson and Humphrey Bogart film when I read its description:

"Dr. Clitterhouse is fascinated by the study of the physical and mental states of lawbreakers, so he joins a gang of jewel thieves for a closer look in this often amusing crime drama."

I must have spent a fortune on CD's at both shops over many years before they sadly closed. There was even an Our Price store further down the street which was owned by WH Smith before eventually Virgin took over it.

The current Fopp store is actually owned by HMV and a visit is essential if you are in the city. Just be warned though that your wallet will end up seriously depleted.

Yeah, we had an Our Price, sadly no Fopp though. I can imagine it being a great source for us collectors, sounds like you had fun.

Alzheimer’s is certainly not a joking matter. I watched my Dad’s Mother not recognize him for the last 3 years of her life, and a good friend of mine just put his Mom in a home where they care for people with the disease. The process caused him to have a breakdown. Oftentimes it is the family members who suffer the most as they are somewhat helpless and have to sit by and hope for a random moment of clarity. I agree with you on this one.

This is a weird ask on these forums, but as someone familiar with Manchester, I'm hoping you can help me..

I'd allotted a weekend there at the end of June on the off chance that wife and I would be able to take a "tour of the cobbles". We had to cut out Paris (that's the kind of girl I married) in order to facilitate this, but luckily the gambit paid off. The dates for the tours in June were just made available and I was able to book.

My kids obviously have no interest in the tour, so I booked a late afternoon slot thinking that we could all have breakfast together and then my kids could site see the city while we are off for a few hours. I would very much like to treat myself and my kids to one of these "Full English" fry ups that are referenced on Corrie so often...while at the same time picking a place that may have a varied enough menu to suit my wife's .... more healthy bent (largely vegan). The priority is definitely on the authenticity of the former, but if i can have it all..and you have some local expertise...I'm all ears
