In that case, I personally consider paying a bit more in terms of "per movie" cost for those 2 movies a worthwhile tradeoff for the pleasure of not owning Dark Fate.
MrPlatinum pretty much answered it for me! That's exactly what I'm talking about. Sometimes, you just don't care for certain installments in a series. There are plenty people who only like Jurassic Park, and don't care to own the sequels. Or they, say, only want Jurassic Park and The Lost World, and want to skip later sequels.

To them, it may be worth just picking up the movie(s) they want individually.

Exactly. Jurassic Park begins and ends with Spielberg for me and I personally don't want the sequels beyond Lost World in my collection. Also I love having the original posters on the covers.

Are the discs in these new individual releases the same ones previously released?

Señor Spielbergo is still very much involved as a sort of creative guide in later sequels (many of the ideas are his, he approves everything and he has vetoed some ideas from Trevorrow and others), but I agree, there's something special about having him in the director's chair which is lost later on.

For me everything past the original just isn't on the same level. I think The Lost World is one of Spielberg's weakest films, though I still enjoy it, and it's still miles better than JP III. Looking forward to Dominion as I also really like the World films even with their batshit crazy plotlines.

Yeah I just much prefer his elaborate set pieces and pacing. My ideal JP franchise would have been a trilogy, with The Lost World ending with the T-Rex roaring against the San Diego skyline, and the third being Jurassic World, directed by Spielberg, with dinos running wild on the mainland. Took them way too long to get to that point, and I really don't need to see Chris Pratt riding dinosaurs.

Yep, dumped the collection here too and picked up the singles of 1,2 & 4. Don't care about any of the others even if they are packaged free with the ones I do enjoy. If I ever change my mind on 2 or 4, then I'll rid myself of those too. Jurassic Park though, that one isn't going anywhere. Ever.

Im sure if I tried I could find the answer, but im lazy. Has Universal produced a steelbook collectors set yet for any franchise? Not counting the 5 movie single packaged steelbook for Jurassic 1-5. Im trying to determine if I want to wait for a potential steelbook box set or get the individual releases while they still have slipcovers

And has the most abrupt ending of any film I can remember since.

I’m only buying Jurassic Park, I will never watch the sequels again plus I have in in Digital if the need ever arises. I wish I knew this about the Indy collection, I would have held off and just bought the first one.

This!! Even as a child in the theater I remember going “That’s it??” by the time the credits rolled. Very rushed and uneventful climax.

I do enjoy the film overall though. It’s fun and fast paced.

The production of the movie was horrible. They scrapped the script weeks before filming began and started a new script that they technically never finished. They had planned to have the military attacked by flying dinosaurs to call back to the opening and use the raptor vocalization to have them come fight and kill the Spinosaurus, but it all got cut before filming and the movie just...ends.

But directors have power. Other Universal titles signal this. Schindler's List shows here that's not how it HAS to be. Steven is failing us by not stepping in and insisting on new masters he oversees and supervises a DV grade for.

Say whatever you want about Universal and their up and down track record... at this point the issue is Spielberg. Him not being passionate about his home video legacy. Being on the record about where these stack personally is translating to, contributing toward and enabling this corporation to cut the corners.
Do you think maybe he'll step in when #6 comes out, and they want to do the bigger 6 movie set, and will want everyone to double-dip? I only want the first one on 4k since the others are ok, but not great, and DVD/blu ray is fine for us for everything but the first one. Of course they probably will only upgrade the disk for the new set, not for the single releases. I normally wouldn't upgrade something I've bought on DVD and blu ray already, but our experience seeing this makes it something we have to have on 4k (we do upgrade our favorite movies though but this isn't even in our top 25). We saw it at a drive-in in a thunderstorm and with the severe weather we were picking up some weird radio station along with the sound from the theater that sounded like some evil satanic service, it was a great time! But I don't think it's worth upgrading the first movie until they do a proper release of it.

Now THAT would’ve been an exciting climax.

Here I am just waiting for my Gruv order, which shipped on the 5th and still hasn't even been given to USPS after 5 days. -_- Those slipcovers are going to be mangled.

Just received my JP1 copy from Amazon and thankfully the slip is in immaculate condition. Love the look of it!
