Well, this so individual lives 5 minutes away from two different Best Buys, so the convenience of no shipping wait time often outweighs any sales tax I pay on movies.

In the particular case of Cars 2, I also have approx 7.50 off the price from a pre-order case I sold on eBay (total sale price - fees and whatnot) plus a 5 dollar coupon, and another $7 for buying it with a Toy Story 3D combo I was going to get anyway, so the $19 in total savings was a good incentive for this so person.

actually more and more often the only reason amazon has good release week prices is because they price matched best buy!
besides the instant gratification factor , have you ordered any slipsleeve titles from amazon lately? single orders ship in super thin oversize jiffy bags, often causing major damage to the sleeves. in store you can actually pic the best condition.then again with your statement i doubt you care about slipcovers at all.

2 years ago I would have agreed with you. Lately it's Best Buy and Target that have the better new release prices. The only time Amazon's new release prices are even competitive is when they match Best Buy and Target.

Plus Best Buy and Target offer store exclusives and bonus discs that Amazon never does anymore.

yup, I never really buy anything online. Just on occasion. I like it that when I want something, I just go out and get it.

Here is what I got today. I still have not opened the box however I will do when I get home.

And with the $25 reward zone coupons I had, it came to almost the same as the regular edition

Terrible iPhone camera incoming.

I have been out of the Blu-ray collecting game for a while. I have been focusing on upgrading my home theater equipment. I just made a very large purchase of the Panny VT30 plasma and the Oppo bdp-93 which will arrive tomorrow. I decided I should buy a bunch of Blus to go along with my major purchases, to enjoy them more thoroughly.

I am extremely happy with the ones I have gotten so far and I cannot WAIT to watch them.

The first few besides Mr. Nobody are my first Criterions, as well.

1. Mr. Nobody
2. Videodrome (Criterion)
3. Dazed & Confused (Criterion)
4. Bottle Rocket (Criterion)
5. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (Criterion)
6. The Tree of Life
7. Rango
8. Source Code
9. Pulp Fiction
10. Wall-E
11. Lion King
12. True Blood Season 3
13. The Others
14. Halloween (1978)
15. Frozen
16. Cloverfield
17. The Hills Have Eyes (remake)
18. Let Me In
19. The Evil Dead
20. Fantastic Mr. Fox
21. Clerks
22. Drag Me To Hell
23. The Last Exorcism

Very nice haul! I still want The Fantastic Mr. Fox, but I'm holding off in hopes that Criterion one day releases it.

I do love Amazon, but I think I prefer going to the store to buy my movies more-so. For one, condition; I'm huge freak when it comes to the condition of my movies and games. I've received orders from Amazon where I'm missing slipcovers or where a box set is dented/crushed. If I went and bought it, it'd be in mint condition because I would've saw it first. One thing I NEVER order online is Steelbooks. I've ordered two before and they both came crushed. Luckily, I have a Future Shop in my city and most North American Steelbooks go there.

Ditto for me.

I have struck up decent conversations with the security guy on-shift when I am usually at BB because he finds it weird I am the nerd who spends a good 5-7 minutes thoroughly inspecting a DVD or game before I buy it. He thought I was pretty shady at first lol.

Yeah, it isn't a "Best Buy" a lot of the time, but with price matching and whatnot you can still get pretty good deals and don't need to worry about headaches pertaining to receiving damaged, dented or dinged products via mail.

And some of their exclusives are good too. I got Cars 2 Blu-Ray 3D for like 13 bucks and some change this morning due to the $5 coupon and the 7.50 steel case deposit.
