I'm really looking forward to seeing how they are able to keep people interested now that they're having to move away from the arena.

Having read the books, I would hope that they could leave in as much as possible considering that it is being split into two movies.

I could see that. I'm not entirely sure that it will do worse overall than Catching Fire, as they're predicting though.

It's obviously going to be HUGE. That's one thing that everyone can agree on, I would hope.

They only have two other movies to compare to, Deathly Hallows 1 and Breaking Dawn 1. Both dipped from their predecessors since casual fans stayed away and waited for the true finale.

I would think that even casual fans are still buzzing from the ending of Catching Fire and are completely amped for Part 1. Whether it may be a better movie than CF or not still needs to be determined, but I fully expect huge box office numbers for Mockingjay Part 1 and quite possibly a bigger opening weekend than CF.

It might be lower. IMAX has booked Interstellar for at least a month. That means that Mockingjay Part 1 will not benefit from higher IMAX prices the way that Catching Fire (and even The Hunger Games) did.

Ahh, good point. I hadn't thought of that.

+1. They really need the money if they expect to be able to have a decent budget for a sequel to Mockingjay Part 1.

HA!

What I'm worried about in the end is that I just KNOW that I'm going to buy both Mockingjay BDs when they are released, just like I did with the first two films. And then, of COURSE, some time down the line they are going to release some totally awesome box set full of new extras, etc.

ARG! I just can't help myself.
