Whichever one is closest to you, I guess. New York will probably be much colder than L.A. is during that time of year.

Except it kind of is cheap. It would be different if it were getting a wide release or something, but it's just a limited release that will come to the areas where the most donations were first and be on itunes and VOD in like a month. They aren't going to be spending a lot to market it. And they're also getting the benefit of the seasons of the show currently selling like hotcakes. It's not like this will be a big moneymaker for them though, but they aren't losing anything.

Anyway, they'll be adding some more goodies including more tickets to the NY and LA premieres on Friday.

Exactly - but if they chuck $5 million in then they likely will be losing something. $5m may not be much to them in comparison to, say, their takings on Dark Knight Rises or Hobbit but the guy who signs away that $5m will still be the guy who lost $5m. Of course it would be nice if they did (just as it would be nice if the film was such a big hit that it turned out to be a great investment) but we shouldn't be berating them for not doing it. As I say, we all knew the deal going in and Warners are doing their part of it. And, at the moment, everyone is getting what they want - Warners, Rob Thomas, the fans.

But I'm not trying to argue - we're all fans here and we all want the same thing. And the great thing is that we're getting it

I only planned on doing one update today, but I'm too excited to wait.

A few hours ago, your efforts helped us reach a secret goal I've been fixating on since our Kickstarter campaign launched: a breathtaking $5 million raised in support of this movie. And we've still got more than 48 hours left to go. Plus, within about 10 seconds of meeting that goal, we also passed 77,000 backers, which means we now need less than 10,000 backers to break our final record.

That's less than 200 backers an hour. We can totally do that, right?

I'll have another update for you later this evening with the details I promised about ComicCon, but right now I wanted to do something for all of you, to express the unending gratitude we're all feeling right now. So, to celebrate today's milestones, I wanted to announce two more free rewards we're adding to thank our backers.

(That's right, I said it: free. These won't cost you an extra cent.)

BONUS REWARD #1: We'll never be able to fully express our gratitude for your support, but that doesn't mean we can't try. Project Update #20: Our triumphant return to San Diego Comic Con!

Hi again.

Yesterday I promised we'd have more specifics about our plans for San Diego Comic Con. Here's what I know so far:

We'll definitely be there in July. We're still working with the organizers to figure out if we'll be holding an official, scheduled panel as part of ComicCon. I'll let you know when I hear more about that, but either way, you'll be able to meet us for autograph signings at the Warner Bros. booth.

We're throwing our own private event, just for our fans. After yesterday's update, a lot of you asked whether our SDCC event would be open to people who weren't able to get passes for ComicCon itself. And happily, the answer is ABSOLUTELY. Even if we have an official panel at SDCC, we're planning to pull out all the stops for our own exclusive event, so this is the one you'll want to be at.

The Veronica Mars Fan Event (don't worry, we'll come up with a better name for it) will happen on July 19, 2013 at 7:30 PM, in what I understand to be an intimate theatrical venue in the Gaslamp District, near the Convention Center.

I'll be there, along with as many of our cast members as I can bring along, and we'll be doing an exclusive Q & A session. And yes, since you're wondering: we will be debuting some exclusive footage from the movie, and you will be the first to see it. (Except for me and our editors, obviously.) Doors will open at 7, and admission will be first-come, first-served... unless you want to reserve a spot now.

For those of you that do, we're going to be adding a few Comic Con related reward options tomorrow (Thursday) at exactly 1:00 pm EST.

The SDCC Fan Package guarantees you a single reserved seat for the Fan Event, in case you want to roll up fashionably late without waiting in line, and the SDCC VIP Package guarantees you a reserved seat up front at the Fan Event and some face time with me and the cast during a brief invite-only Meet & Greet event the same day.

(For those of you who can't make it to San Diego, don't worry: we'll also be recording the entire event so that all of our backers get to see it.)

Finally, I promised that we'd have some news for Logan fans. We will, I promise. We're finalizing the details with Jason now. What I can tell you tonight is that if you're a Logan fan (or a Jason fan), you'll want to look for another Backer Update tomorrow morning. In addition to the Comic Con rewards, we'll be announcing one more reward option that will also be available tomorrow starting at 1:00 pm EST.

I think that's enough excitement for one day. 48 hours to go, gang.

BTW, you can use the same Amazon account/card to donate more than once as long as you use a different Kickstarter account. My one friend didn't have an Amazon account so they wired the money to my bank account and I signed up for another Kickstarter account using my other e-mail address. I'm thinking maybe I'll have my mom set up a Kickstarter account tomorrow and I'll donate another $1 with hers.
